It’s been a bloody busy few weeks here at LW Diesel & Contracting Services! 🔧🔥

A bit of a photo dump to show what we’ve been up to — from plenty of engine work and repairs, through to brand new trailer chassis builds and everything in between.

The workshop hasn’t had much of a chance to slow down, and looking at what’s already booked in, there’s plenty more of the exact same coming at us hard and fast again this month! 💪

Another fresh new chassis in the build process.

A Sunday afternoon breakdown call turned into a major engine repair.

This Cummins Signature came in with a severe engine miss. After diagnosing the fault, we stripped the engine down and found major damage to the cylinder head and injectors.

After replacing the damaged components, carrying out the necessary repairs and thorough testing, this truck is back on the road and ready to get back to work.

⚙️ Eaton UltraShift Diagnosis – Mechanical Failure to Shift ⚙️

When this Eaton UltraShift came into the workshop, it was suffering from a mechanical failure to shift. Rather than jumping straight into replacing parts, our team carried out a systematic diagnostic process to identify the root cause.

After completing the necessary diagnostic procedures and inspections, the fault was traced back to a failed lid shift assembly and XY shifter assembly.

By accurately diagnosing the issue first, we were able to replace only the faulty components, getting the transmission back to smooth, reliable operation while avoiding unnecessary repairs.

From an internal clean through to final delivery, this ANE tanker trailer has undergone a complete ground-up rebuild in our workshop and is now back in service for Qube Bulk.

The scope of works included:

✅ Internal vessel clean and inspection
✅ Hydrostatic pressure testing, repairs and certification
✅ Complete abrasive blast of the entire vessel and chassis
✅ Fabrication and installation of our own in-house designed chassis
✅ New Hendrickson HXL7 axle arrangement
✅ New ABC air brake system with ABS/EBS integration
✅ DG compliant wiring system throughout
✅ Replacement of all major components and running gear as required
✅ Full three-coat paint system for long-term durability and corrosion protection
✅ Final assembly, testing and commissioning

This project highlights the capability of our team to take an ageing tanker and transform it into a fully rebuilt, compliant and reliable asset ready for many more years of operation.

A huge effort from everyone involved to deliver another high-quality rebuild safely, on time and to the standard our customers expect.

We appreciate the opportunity from Qube Bulk and look forward to seeing this unit back on the road doing what it was built for.

Quality Control Inspection – Passed with Flying Colours ✅🔧

Today’s workshop quality control inspection was carried out by our toughest auditors yet – the boss’s daughters after school! 👧👧

Following the replacement of the clutch, rear main engine seal, rear engine mounts, and several other repairs, they were on hand to make sure every nut, bolt and component met the highest standards before this truck heads back to work.

After a very thorough inspection under the truck, asking all the important questions, and keeping a close eye on the mechanic, we’re pleased to report the job has officially passed QA approval! 😄

It’s great to share a bit of workshop life with the next generation and show them what goes into keeping Australia’s trucks on the road.
