🐀 When the rats decide to service the car themselves…

Pulled this airbox out of a vehicle today while replacing an air con evaporator and found the rats had been putting in some serious overtime.

They’d chewed their way through the airbox, insulation and filter (filter is now just a bare frame) — turning the whole thing into a very questionable rodent Airbnb. 😂

Unfortunately, it’s not just the damage you can see. Rodents can chew through wiring, hoses, filters and other components, potentially leaving you with a much bigger repair bill.

If your car has been sitting around, parked near long grass, or you’ve noticed signs of rodents, it’s worth getting it checked.

Because apparently some little rodents have decided your engine bay is their new home. 😂🐀

Bring your vehicle in before the tenants get too comfortable!

Ever wondered why some air con repairs can cost a bit more than expected? 🥵🔧

Sometimes the problem isn’t the part itself — it’s where the part is hiding! 😂

On some vehicles, things like the evaporator, heater box and other A/C components are buried right behind the dash. Which means to get to the faulty component, the dash has to come out… and sometimes it feels like we’re pulling half the car apart!

There’s a fair bit of labour involved in carefully stripping everything down, replacing the faulty component, then putting it all back together properly.

So when you see a big A/C repair quote, this is often why. It’s not just the cost of the part — it’s the hours of work involved in actually getting to it.

Not exactly a 10-minute job! 😅

If your A/C isn’t keeping you cool, get in touch with Express Auto Electrics and let us take a look. ❄️🔧
