Another day another head liner completed and back in car, this is only ONE of Raj's liners this week. Porsche liner out, cleaned, recovered and re installed, then he tried out the machine again.
For the final installation you will need to check out Drive Craft Mobil Car Roof lining along with all of Raj's work

And here are some of the others I haven't added but mentioned.

Updating how things have been progressing lately (so we will bypass the last 2 and half months of self inflicted injuries and just look at the work we have been doing)
Before and after

A rough night spent by many out my way last night, the roaring of the Refinery went on for over 3 hours, so as with most out this way we are really sleep deprived, I do have work booked in BUT I'm not working in my shed, as asthma is already hitting me. So everyone take care out this way.

Having many inquiries re head linings, this is where Raj spends most of his day recovering board after board, removing cleaning recovering and re installing, when customers say they just want the original glued back up it doesn't work. Sure it might stay up a day maybe even a week, but it will fall again.
WHY, the material is in 3 layers; material foam mesh, these 3 are bonded together as one, the foam breaks down the material loosens and falls. thus most people notice a brown flaking on the floor or when they shut the doors, that's the foam breaking down.
So please don't get frustrated with any trimmer when they say it has to be completely recovered, it's just how it has to be done.

I'm getting slack in my old age, I haven't posted any news on how Raj is progressing, well we have had a few jobs and he has so far completed 2 rebuilds of cushions and replaced panels in covers, currently doing a full retrim on a Hillman Minx, front and rear seats done, door cards/trim done, headlining made up, carpets are currently having the knitted edging done in Newcomb.
Bus seats at the beginning of the year requiring rebuilds and panel replacements, so yeah he has been busy, all the while doing his head linings around the countryside.
I've spoken with him to use here as a home base so headlinings in Geelong will come here to be done, I know the way he has been doing it works for him BUT the travel time between jobs is blowing out to being not viable to continue with, so they will all be done here.
Okay think I've brought you all up to date, OH sewing ....yeah, his getting there, line work okay, making binding mmmm working on it and adding piping to fabric, ..............yeah that's going to take a bit more practice
Okay up to date have a great day and cheers
Please keep an eye out for anyone wrecking/selling parts for a 76 chrysler centura

Re opened last week for 2 days, Raj back on the tools completing removal of bucket seat, rebuilding foam cushion and mending the cover putting it all back together and fitting it back in the car, followed up with the rebuild and cover repairs for a CFA seat base. All up well done
This week again for two days he has repaired covers on bus seats, (his sewing is improving), tomorrow he will have his first go at removal of a head lining in a Hilman Minx, This should test me as far as crawling around inside a car, hope my hip and knees hold up (yeah I know it's no laughing matter, but I laughed anyway)
I'm too old for this, just keep telling myself "method in my madness"
The rest of the week Raj will be doing head linings, he already has 5 booked in and will be back next week to continue to learn trimming. He's a busy boy.
Any how enjoy your week and the long weekend coming up, again any work that Raj can do please give me a buzz and cheers for now.
