8000km on the new engine, and it still pulls hard. Still very reliable, because it gets regularly serviced with Idemitsu Rotary oils. Still cold starts and hot starts with no issues. Also used soft gutter or garden edging stuff we had laying around to make a skirt duct around the radiator to force the air to go only through the radiator. I also plan to get a cooling underplate for it, to help with cooling and aerodynamics. The stock radiator duct is still mint, so that works as it should, but unlike the S2 models, the space under the sump is open to the airflow under the car, which disturbs the airflow, and creates a lid effect on the engine bay. The next mod I plan on will help pull heat from the engine bay, and stop that lid effect from driving engine bay temps up when you go for a spirited run.

The rebuild of the demo car is now finished. I've done 400km so far on the new engine build, and it hasn't skipped a single beat, and pulls like a freight train, which is exactly what you want. If you want an engine built by me like I did mine, Contact me, and we can work out pricing. Be aware, engine builds are charged at $100p/h for labour and consumables, on top of any parts, but I will discuss all that with the customer on first consultation.

Time to begin the rebuild. 2 years of planning, saving up, and tooling up leads to this 1st job. Got some goodies to go along with the rebuild as well, aluminium radiator included, of which I'll get a photo of it when it gets here. Photo of radiator screen is not mine, but I do have one of those to install, in these boxes. Over the coming days/weeks, this bunch of boxes will slowly disappear, as the contents get used. Getting keen. This is only the beginning of this journey.

Getting ready to put a new engine into Shino, the shop demo car. Only the best parts, and fluids are going into this. TK's Rotary Performance recommends Idemitsu and Nulon fluids, for a long living engine, As well as installing a clean oil feed and premixing. Premixing your fuel adds lubricity to your fuel for successful lubrication of all seals in the rotary engine, and Adding a clean oil feed setup allows you to feed clean oil into the epitrochoidal rotor housings to aid your apex seals to last longer, than if you didn't premix. RX-8 owners, take note, this is why your engine has a bad rep, that, and previous owners. S2 RX-8s aren't as tetchy about it, but S1 most definitely is. 8oz of premix for normal daily duties, or 16oz for heavy or track driving is recommended by us, and pretty much all rotary engine builders. You'll thank me later.

Parts used:
Ryan Rotary Performance COF Adaptor Mk.III
Sohn oil tank set
Nulon coolant and driveline fluids
Idemitsu Rotary blend engine oil and premix
ACS Xtreme HD clutch
OEM Oil injection lines and gaskets

We recommend use of OEM parts as well, if available. Old engine will be torn down, and rebuilt if deemed salvageable.

Doing a full filter and oil change service on this little toasterbox today. The air filters were in desperate need of a new set, and the battery was so dead, that it wouldn't start without a jumpstart. Fresh penrite oil going into it, and a full set of Ryco filters going into this beast.
