This is a post we genuinely never wanted to make.
Unfortunately, due to the actions of a small number of individuals on Friday night, The SKID Yard will no longer continue.
Friday night had plenty of highs, but the actions of those involved at the end of the event put spectators, staff and others at serious risk.
The individuals responsible have been identified. Their names, vehicle details, registrations and other relevant information have been recorded and provided to the appropriate parties to assist with further enquiries.
Those involved will receive a lifetime ban from Sydney Dragway and Western Sydney Speedway.
We are also continuing to identify several other people involved.
The SKID Yard was created to give everyday Australians an affordable event where they could come together and enjoy the thing we all love, cars and motorsport.
At a time when the cost of everything continues to rise, we wanted to keep this event accessible, affordable and fun. We did it because we genuinely love the automotive community and everything motorsport.
Sadly, the actions of a few haven’t just affected one or two people. They have taken something away from the thousands of people who supported, attended and enjoyed these events.
To everyone who supported The SKID Yard throughout this journey, entered their cars, came through the gates, brought their families, helped behind the scenes or simply backed what we were trying to build, thank you.
We’re incredibly sorry it has ended this way.
