Speedometer accuracy varies in every vehicle. It is most likely less accurate at higher speeds when you have changed tyres, don’t check tyre pressures often and or there is a calibration error. The worst case would be that your Speedo reads lower than you actual speed as you would be more likely to break the law and receive a fine. Also remember the speed limit is the maximum speed you are allowed to travel at, not the required speed. Meaning if there are reasons to slow down, you should. Those reasons are too many to list hear, but we cover them if our driving programs and this could just be the difference between life or death.

We have just returned from a Defensive Driving Program, facilitated for a not-for-profit organisation on the NSW far North Coast. They do well over 25,000km/s per quarter each year, conducting important social work. To help these staff stay safe while at work is our pleasure, and we hope to see them again in the future.

Thanks, team!

We had a very rare Datsun 1600 fastback at testing this week. Someone had taken the time to restore it and while it didn’t have the original engine it was very well put together. This also shows how advanced motoring has taken the driver engagement away. Vehicles like this are visceral, you feel them, you hear them and in some cases even smell them. If you have ever sat in a 1600 they all have a distinct aroma. This time we actually checked and showed the twin side draft webers, so enjoy the sounds of yesteryear! Follow us for more cool stuff like this. 👌👍

On Friday, our team facilitated a capacity Defensive Driving Program for people who primarily drive for work purposes. Everyone learned valuable skills and improved their hazard response. However, our theory shows you how to avoid situations that put you at risk in the first place. No doubt these drivers now can Steer Safely on our roads.

Check out this fully restored Datsun 1600. Turn the sound up to hear the Webers in full flight. This was a vehicle being tested for VSCCS compliance at one of our testing days. Enjoy!

From a driver trainers perspective demonstrating a swerve and recovery exercise in a Mazda 6 at 110km/h. You never know when this technique will be needed. This saved Candii Banks life when she needed this in a real life situation after doing our defensive driving program. Don’t leave it to chance get yourself trained so you too can Steer Safely!

On Friday, our team facilitated our Defensive Driving Program at the Sydney Dragway Eastern Creek. With a large corporate attendance, many drivers shared vehicles, everyone followed our instructions, made significant improvements and understood the safe driving messages well. We hope to see them back for more training in the future.

Thanks, team!

Performing an accident avoidance is a real skill that you may one day need. It’s not as simple as it looks.

Do you know this rule regarding Roundabouts? It might mean a fail on your P test.
