Hurricane Marine recently completed a number of works on the flawless luxury motor boat ‘Absolute’ including:

- A top to bottom polish.

- Propspeed on the IPS drive units.

- Antifoul removal and new paint system.

- And a full overhaul of the swim platform system.

She’s absolutely set to turn heads out on the water!

Recently Peter & Una Seafoods brought their fine trawler ‘Petuna Endeavour’ in for some upgrades.

These included:

- The installation of new autoliner systems from Mustad
- New hydraulics from Fortescue Fleet
- Electrical work undertaken by Rock Electrical
- Engine works by Spectrum Engineering
- Welding by Hurricane Marine including new floor plates, some instrument boxes, pipe works and new vents.

The improvements ensuring the commercial fishing vessel is in terrific shape for another season of catching delicious, fresh Tassie seafood.

The team at Hurricane Marine has been busy this year recovering and removing vessels that are at the end of their usable life or have had a misstep.

We value the trust organisations like EPA Tasmania, Marine and Safety Tasmania (MAST) and insurance companies, as well as private clients, have in our ability to undertake often complex salvage and disposal jobs.

We approach every recovery with respect for the vessel and its history while striking a balance with practical solutions.

If you have a boat that has become more of a burden than a pleasure, reaching out early can make all the difference to minimise salvage and clean-up costs, hazards to navigation and damage to our waterways.

Seafood and Maritime Training RTO 7074 vessels, ‘Navigator’ and ‘Seatrain,’ looking sharp after their annual maintenance was carried out at Cleanlift Marine by Hurricane Marine.

On the job-list: polishing, some fresh blue, antifouling, smart sign writing, stainless steel work and several other maintenance tasks ticked off.

Ready to head into the not-for-profit’s 40th year of providing top quality training in the aquaculture and maritime sector.

Hurricane Marine recently assisted commercial fishing boat ‘Katia’ recover and repair a broken stabiliser arm.

The longliner managed to navigate from 50 miles south of Maatsuyker Island in the Southern Ocean to Southport, where our team repositioned it back into its storage position.

The ‘Katia’ crew were then able to head back out and continue chasing Southern Bluefin Tuna.

The stabiliser arm was later repaired and reinstated, ensuring their next voyage was a much smoother one (as much as it could be!)

A 35ft steel vessel in Birchs Bay, in the beautiful D’Entrecasteaux Channel, which unfortunately met its end.

Hurricane Marine recently assisted in her recovery and removal to Oyster Cover.

The unfortunate outcome serves as a timely reminder of the importance of having appropriate insurance.

It makes the process significantly smoother for everyone involved — owners, contractors and Marine and Safety Tasmania - MAST.
