The Fuel Support Payment offer is now open to claim!

If you hold a valid Western Australian driver’s licence, you can claim a one-off $100 Fuel Support Payment.

This includes learner, provisional (P-platers) and extraordinary licences.

The fastest, most secure and convenient way to claim is through the ServiceWA app using your Digital ID.

You can use it however you like, including donating it directly to a charity through the app.

🚗 Booking a Practical Driving Assessment? DON'T FORGET YOUR ID!

If you’re planning to book a Practical Driving Assessment (PDA) in the Shire of Denmark, there’s one important thing you must bring with you: your valid, physical form of ID.

As an agent for the Department of Transport (DoT), the Shire of Denmark MUST follow strict procedures when making PDA bookings. This means:
✨ All PDA bookings MUST be made in person by the individual taking the test
✨ You MUST present your primary ID at the time of booking
✨ We CANNOT verify your identity or access your licensing records over the phone.

At the Shire Office, we can assist with a wide range of licensing services — but PDA bookings must always happen in person, so come to the Shire of Denmark Administration Building (with your valid ID☝️) to book your assessment.

If you need to book over the phone instead, please contact the DoT directly on 13 11 56.

Only DoT Contact Centre Consultants can verify your documents over the phone and confirm that your ID is valid,️ your Hazard Perception Test (HPT) is complete and your PDA entitlement has been recorded.

Following these steps helps us meet DoT requirements and keeps the process running smoothly for everyone.

- minimum of 3 continuous years' experience driving the vehicle class you wish to teach
- pass medical fitness standards
- pass police character checks
- minimum age of 21 years old.

BIG CHANGES COMING TO WA LICENSING SYSTEM

We’re overhauling WA’s graduated licensing system to make our roads safer for everyone.

To help develop safer, more capable young drivers we’ll be increasing the learner period from 6 to 12 months and the provisional period from 2 to 3 years.

These changes follow feedback from thousands of West Aussies on how to better support young drivers as they gain experience on our road.

The changes will be rolled out alongside proposed changes to motorcycle licensing, once public consultation is complete.

Been a bit quiet on here lately… not because nothing’s happening, but because I’ve been flat out like a lizard drinking.

Today though? Definitely worth a post.

It was PDA day and it was a good one — 3 from 3 passes in the manual car ✅✅✅

Now, I do offer a kebab as motivation for anyone who gets a clean sheet. A few came very close..… but fortunately for my bank account no kebabs were harmed in the making of this post 🌯😂

Doesn’t change the main thing though — 3 tests, 3 passes, and that’s a bloody good result.

Massive well done to all 3 drivers. A fantastic effort and a well-earned pass.
