Ford Mustang Roush Phase 2 Supercharger & Maxx Performance Dyno Tune

This 2025 Ford Mustang GT came into Maxx Performance looking for a serious power upgrade. Arriving with only a cat back exhaust fitted it was time to give the coyote a power up!

We got straight to work fitting a Roush Phase 2 Supercharger Kit which includes:

- Roush 2650 Supercharger
- Water to air intercooler system
- Upgraded heat exchanger
- Upgraded injectors & fuel rails
- All associated supercharger drive hardware, hoses etc

We also fitted a K&N twin intake system with high flow air filters

With the hardware installed we bolted the Mustang onto our Mainline Hub Dyno and got to work developing a custom Maxx Performance engine ECU and transmission calibration tailored specifically to this setup.

The end result?

503.2rwkw on 98

A great result that highlights just how well the Coyote platform responds to boost even while retaining the factory headers and cats in this case.

Just as impressive as the power figure is the drivability! Around town the Mustang remains smooth, refined and effortless to drive but bury your right foot and there’s over 500rwkw on tap ready to transform it into an absolute animal!

Our custom Maxx Performance transmission tune also has the 10 speed shifting crisp and sharp perfectly complementing the supercharged power delivery.

2012 Subaru WRX Upgrades & Maxx Performance Custom Dyno Tune

This Subaru WRX came into Maxx Performance with the owner looking for a little more performance from his otherwise standard WRX. With plans for the occasional track day and hillclimb event we set about putting together a simple but effective package to wake the car up.

The upgrades included:

- korsh_au 3” turbo back stainless exhaust inc. highflow cat and quad titanium tips
- K&N high flow panel filter
- Maxx Performance airbox mod to the factory Airbox
- Maxx Performance Custom Dyno Tune

With the hardware installed we bolted the WRX onto our Mainline AWD Hub Dyno and got to work developing a custom Maxx Performance dyno tune to suit the new combination.

A great gain from a relatively simple combination of modifications with noticeable improvements in power, torque and throttle response right across the rev range.

Best of all it’s now backed by that unmistakable Subaru boxer rumble that we all know and love!

Y62 Patrol Supercharger Upgrade & Maxx Performance Custom Dyno Tune

This Y62 Patrol returned to Maxx Performance for the next stage of its build after us previously fitting a full Pacemaker exhaust system, AFE intake and custom tune where it produced a healthy 288rwkw

This time round the owner wanted to take things further with the ultimate all round street performance package.

We fitted:
- Harrop 2300 Y62 Supercharger Kit
- Harrop Pulley Upgrade
- Harrop Direct Injection HP fuel pump
- Maxx Performance ECUTek Multi Map Tune
- Maxx Performance ECUTEK Transmission Tune

Also upgrading the stopping power with:
- DBA Performance Slotted T3 Rotors
- Performance Brake Pads
- Braided brake Lines

With the hardware installed we bolted the Patrol onto our Mainline Hub Dyno and developed a custom engine and transmission calibration to suit the new supercharged combination.

Tune 3 - 310rwkw

The peak power figure is impressive but it’s the massive increase in torque and power delivery throughout the entire rev range that completely transforms the way the Patrol drives. Whether you’re overtaking, towing or simply cruising around town the extra performance is immediately noticeable.

The ECUTek Multi Map package continues to provide solid results and also gives the owner multiple selectable maps including immobilizer along with our refined transmission calibration for smoother operation, improved shift quality, and better converter lock up strategy.

FG XR6 Cam Upgrade & Maxx Performance Dyno Tune

This FG XR6 came into Maxx Performance ready for the next stage of modifications.

With the XR6 having already the usual N/A bolt ons including a street fighter cold air intake and airbox upgrade, extractors and exhaust system (tuned elsewhere) it was time to step things up with a camshaft package.

We fitted:
Kelford Camshafts
Crow upgraded Valve Springs
Genuine Ford Spark Plugs

With the hardware installed we bolted the FG up to our Mainline Hub Dyno and got to work on the Maxx Performance Custom Dyno Tune, refining both the engine and transmission calibration to suit the new setup.

The end result:

A great mprovement over the 180rwkw the car arrived with showing just how well the N/A Barra responds to a quality mods and tuning with a respectable naturally aspirated figure.

At this level the single 2.5” exhaust is starting to become a restriction in the upper RPM range but it’s still an excellent result and makes for a much more exciting car to drive!

Maxx Performance at Aus Time Attack Winton Raceway

Aus Time Attack 2026 done and dusted!
What a great weekend!!

The little open deck EJ20 was a machine taking three full days of abuse and completing each session while seeing up to 30psi of boost!

Being our first time at Winton in the dry and the first event on the new setup: new tyres, gearbox, turbo combination and suspension package we weren’t out to chase records. Overall we’re extremely happy with how everything performed!

By the final session we managed a 1:32.0 despite the tyres being well and truly past their best. With a fresh set and more seat time we’d be confident of dipping into the 1:30s and there’s definitely more time left in the car.

For a H pattern registered car with no aero whatsoever we’re pretty stoked with the result!

A huge thank you to our team for all the help, advice, late nights and crewing over the three days. Plenty of laughs were had and best of all the car drove back onto the trailer under its own steam!

We’ll make a few changes, keep developing the package, and hopefully head back next year to have a crack at a sub 1:30 lap.

2008 Ford G6E Turbo – E85 Upgrades & Maxx Performance Dyno Tune

This 2008 G6E Turbo came into Maxx Performance for some performance upgrades and a Maxx Performance custom dyno tune including a switch to multi tune 98/e85.

We upgraded the valve springs, head studs, fuel system and ensured both the engine and transmission were serviced and ready for the extra power.

While replacing the valve springs and head studs we discovered the common damaged timing chain guides and chain so we fitted an upgraded HD timing chain kit before it had the chance to become a much bigger problem.

- Pulsar 3584 IWG turbo with Maxx Performance porting
- Stage 2 intercooler upgrade
- Walbro high flow fuel pump
- 1000cc injectors
- Crow race valve springs & upgraded head studs
- 4” intake & battery relo
- 4” dump pipe into twin 2.5” exhaust
- PCMTEC Maxx Performance Multi-Tune (98 / E85)

With the hardware sorted we bolted the G6E-T up to our Mainline Hub Dyno and got to work developing a custom Maxx Performance calibration for both fuels.

The result:

440.4rwkw on E85

A great result for a fun street car with the flexibility of multiple fuel options, strong power delivery and the reliability upgrades to match!

BF Turbo Wagon Maxx Performance Custom Dyno Tune

This un suspecting owner built BF Falcon Wagon arrived at Maxx Performance for a custom dyno tune. It has been converted using a BA factory turbo engine and built BTR.

Mod list includes:
- Process West Stage 2.3 intercooler kit including throttle body relocation & Process West intake

2013 Subaru WRX Maxx Performance Custom Dyno Tune

This 2013 Subaru WRX came into Maxx Performance after receiving a round of bolt on upgrades. Knowing just how sensitive Subaru calibrations are to modifications the owner was quick to book in for a custom dyno tune to ensure everything was running safely and making the most of the new hardware.

Modifications:
- Process West Verti-Cooler
- Process West cold air intake
- Pro Speed Racing turbo inlet pipe
- Invidia turbo back exhaust

We bolted the WRX up to our Mainline Hub Dyno and got to work developing a custom Maxx Performance calibration tailored to the combination.

It’s a common misconception that simple bolt ons don’t require tuning on these cars. Even an intake upgrade can cause a turbo Subaru to run lean potentially risking engine damage if left un tuned.
