Subaru VA WRX Maxx Performance Dyno Tune

This Auto 2017 Subaru WRX arrived at Maxx Performance looking for a custom dyno tune.

The FA20 platform continues to respond well to tuning and it was good to see what we could do with an Auto WRX in essentially standard form the only modification being a rear resonator delete.

Once bolted up to our mainline hub dyno we pre ran the WRX as arrived at 141.3kw at all four hubs. We then got to work refining the custom calibration and after tuning we finished up at:

164.2kw at all 4 hubs

A result of over 20awkw just in tuning alone with improved response and power across the rev range.

Subaru WRX STI Maxx Performance Flex Fuel Dyno Retune

Having previously fitted a link_ecu G4X plug in ECU along with flex fuel kit this 2008 STI returned for a retune after changing the restrictive box muffler exhaust for a more free flowing rear section.

Once bolted up to our mainline hub dyno we refined the flex tune via the link ecu and also utilised the S drive switch to give the car different boost levels on both 98 and E85 with the flex blending between.

Toyota GT86 Maxx Performance Flex Fuel conversion

This 2013 Toyota GT86 came into Maxx Performance for a flex fuel conversion and custom Maxx Performance ECUTek RaceROM dyno tune adding performance, flexibility and some extra features to this already fun platform!

Existing mods on this 86:
▪️ PSR Unequal Length Headers
▪️ Full Invidia Q300 exhaust
▪️ Perrin Cold Air Intake

We got to work on fitting and plumbing the flex fuel kit for seamless integration then we bolted the car onto our Mainline Hub Dyno and started the flex fuel tune from 98 through to E85 ensuring smooth transitions and optimal performance across the range.

Ending up with:
128.9 rwkw on 98
137.9 rwkw on E85

Great gains from this small capacity n/a engine with the hassle free power and freedom of flex fuel and the added ecutek racerom features including:
-multi map
-launch control
-flat foot shifting

Topped off with a great handling package this is a fun car to drive!

Subaru VA WRX Bolt On Upgrades & Maxx Performance Custom Dyno Tune

This 2014 Subaru WRX returned to Maxx Performance for the next stage of upgrades after previously receiving a process_west intake upgrade and custom dyno tune from us.

This time around we fitted:
- Process West Verti-Cooler top mount intercooler
- Invidia 3” turbo back exhaust
- Grimmspeed 3 port boost controller

With the new hardware installed we bolted the WRX up our Mainline Hub Dyno and got to work refining the Maxx Performance custom dyno tune to suit the upgraded setup.

The FA20 platform continues to respond well to quality bolt on modifications with this WRX finishing up at:

217.8kw at all 4 hubs on 98

A great result with improved response, more power across the rev range and a much more exciting drive overall! Just the way a WRX should be!

Another Y62 Patrol in for a Custom Maxx Performance Dyno tune with multi map tune options via ECUTEK ( including transmission tune )

This Y62 arrived already fitted with Pacemaker headers and full exhaust including high flow cats.

We fitted a high flow K&N air filter and bolted the big Patrol up to our Mainline Hub Dyno and got to work developing a tailored calibration to the factory engine and transmission ecu seamlessly improving power, response and overall drivability.

FG G6E Turbo Maxx Performance Custom Dyno Tune

This G6E Turbo came into Maxx Performance for one of our custom Multi Map Dyno tunes

Already having the usual supporting mods
- Battery relo and turbo side intake
- Upgraded 1000cc injectors
- High flow Walbro fuel pump
- High flow cat
- Upgraded Intercooler

Before the dyno we fitted a set of genuine Ford spark plugs gapped to suit then we bolted the car up to our Mainline Hub Dyno and got to work on the custom multi map dyno tune refining both the engine tune and ZF transmission calibration. As part of the multi tune there are multiple tunes selectable via the factory steering wheel controls. EG: High boost, low boost, valet mode and ghost cams.

Ending up with 306.4rwkw

A responsive setup still retaining the factory turbo with improved drivability and the added benefit of multi map support!

2025 GR86 Maxx Performance Dyno Tune

This 2025 Toyota GR86 came into Maxx Performance for a custom ECUTek dyno tune arriving standard apart from the hard to find GR Performance intake!

We bolted it up to our mainline hub dyno and pre ran the car as arrived for 147rwkw.

From there we got to work developing a tailored Maxx Performance ECUTek calibration incorporating a range of RaceROM features including Flat foot shifting, Launch control and Multi map support.

Once tuning was complete the GR86 finished up at:
163rwkw

A great gain from tuning a near standard small capacity N/A engine with torque also increasing by around 10% making the car noticeably more responsive and enjoyable to drive ready for its next track day!

We had this super clean Y62 Patrol for a Custom Maxx Performance Dyno tune with multi map tune options via ECUTEK ( including transmission tune )

This Y62 arrived to us ready for a tune with
Pacemaker headers and exhaust including high flow cats and a Scalzo 4x4 airbox and snorkel combo.

Focused on optimising the factory ECU to tie in with the existing mods we bolted the Patrol up to our Mainline Hub Dyno and got to work developing a tailored calibration to the engine and transmission improving power, response and overall drivability.

A good result from the tune ending up with 281.5rwkw

FG XR6 Turbo Maxx Performance Stage 4 Package

This FG XR6 Turbo Ute came into Maxx Performance for our proven Stage 4 package transforming the ute into a seriously tough street setup!

Our Stage 4 package includes:
- Bosch 1000cc injectors
- Walbro 460 in tank fuel pump
- Crow race valve springs & retainers
- Process West 4” turboside race intake & battery relocation kit
- Garrett GTX3582 supercore including flapper mod and upgraded actuator
- Process West Stage 2 intercooler kit
- XForce 4” turbo back exhaust

While replacing the valve springs we also fitted a set of upgraded head studs to help future proof the combo.

Ford Ranger Raptor Maxx Performance Custom Dyno Tune

This Ranger Raptor came into Maxx Performance for a power run and check over after being modified and tuned elsewhere. The owner felt the vehicle was lacking the punch it should have so we put it on our Mainline Hub Dyno to see where things stood.

As it arrived the Raptor produced 290rwkw

Knowing there was more left on the table adding to the already fitted larger intercooler we fitted:
- Process West larger crossover pipe
- K&N high flow air filter

From there we started fresh with a complete Maxx Performance custom dyno tune tailoring both the engine and transmission calibration specifically to suit the bolt on combination.

The final result:
340.8rwkw

A decent improvement in power, response, and overall drivability transforming how the Raptor performs on the road.
