MECHANIC POSITION

Job Title: Qualified Automotive Mechanic
Location: Shines Automotive & Marine – 2 Else Street, Cundletown NSW 2430

Start Date: 7th July 2025
Employment Type: Full-Time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Reports To: Workshop Manager / Owner

Position Summary
We are seeking a qualified Automotive Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to a high standard in a busy and supportive workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities
Perform mechanical repairs and routine servicing on a variety of vehicles
Diagnose faults using diagnostic tools and interpret technical information
Complete logbook servicing in line with manufacturer specifications
Conduct road tests and inspections to ensure repairs meet safety and performance standards
Communicate clearly with the workshop manager regarding job progress and any additional work required
Maintain a clean and safe workspace, adhering to WHS standards
Accurately document work completed and parts used
Skills & Experience
Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent trade qualification)
Proven experience working as an automotive mechanic (post-apprenticeship)
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
Sound understanding of automotive systems, tools, and equipment
Ability to work independently and efficiently as part of a team
Current manual driver's licence

Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Good communication skills
Commitment to ongoing learning and development

Remuneration
Wages will be discussed based on experience and qualifications in accordance with industry standards.

Shine Automotive is a family owned and operated mechanic shop.
Offering small and major repairs and tyre fitting.
We are located in Cundletown (next to Taree).
Current hrs of operation are Monday-Friday 8-5pm
We currently have a part time or full-time position available with the option for overtime or RDO for the right applicate.

We are looking for a skilled Auto Mechanic to maintain and repair vehicles.
You will be responsible for troubleshooting issues and fixing them aiming to maximum reliability and functionality.
An excellent auto mechanic, has good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
They are well-versed in complex mechanical or electronical systems of vehicles and have excellent problem-solving abilities.
They must also be good communicators to provide advice to customers.

Responsibilities
-Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately
-Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity
-Schedule future maintenance sessions and advise motorists on good vehicle use
-Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks)
-Keep logs on work and issues
-Maintain equipment and tools in good condition

Requirements and skills
Proven experience as a motor mechanic
Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles
Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
