I have shared both pictures and my views on protective armour before. This is, without a doubt, the worst case of degradation I have ever seen! In this state the sticky dust found it's way into every part of the suit, every fold and every seam. This was a massive clean up job.

I call them like I see them.
It's a great privilege to be trusted to repair peoples motorcycle safety gear, and there's little I haven't seen in more than 20 years. We trust that the people who make our safety gear have our best interests at heart, not just profits from sales. When I see a seam on the outside of a one piece race suit, I expect to see another two seams hidden on the inside, unless it's not required. For example, the armpit is not a "high impact zone" two seams would be sufficient. Pictured here is the outside thigh on a cheap race suit, one single row of stitching keeping you from contacting the bitumen. Unacceptable cheap rubbish.

I would like to personally thank the organisers, RRAT and QEMSC, the participants and officials for making me welcome at this event. I hope I get the opportunity to return to North Queensland again for another round of racing and perfect weather. Thank you to everyone involved.

I don't post very often, but for those of you who follow my repairs here's something new. This before and after shot is from the damage caused by sliding down the track with an airbag inner suit!

The innovation of the riders airbag has been a great addition to the safety of motorcycle racers,
unfortunately as the devise becomes more and more popular, I can expect to see more of this kind of damage.

An absolutely cracking weekend of racing at Carnell Raceway. Thanks to QEMSC for making me welcome and all the officials and volunteers for making it all happen.
