Yesterday we went out to VMP for the maiden voyage of the Vs!
Testing out a completely new build we knew we were going to be faced with challenges & we were right…

rolling up to the start line for that 1st pass i didnt know what to expect from the car & old Jeff Johnson didnt let me off lightly with a 1.26 60 ft straight out the gates!

Unfortunately we kept having a crank signal issue that would cut the car off as we went down the track with the longest being 3.2 seconds into the run.
We kept trying & making test passes with a best of a 1.21 60ft with the car cutting out at 0.85 into the pass, but all in all the car performed perfectly apart from this one issue that we will endevour to diagnose & fix as the heat is on for King of the street then rolling straight into Drag Challenge.

The build of this car took so much effort & so many hours, late nights & weekends as many of you will know but it doesnt just come from one person it takes a team of people & businesses to make it happen along with the boys at our shop & having the premises & tooling to do something like this!

There will be people i have forgotten & im sorry.

There are 2 people that require a special mention Adam J Pap has wired this car from front to back & not only that gave up alot of his own time to help with the build & do alot of the little custom interior work mounting things, cut & polishing the car! This car would not have happened without him

My wife Jess Watson , the time away from home & the kids to be able to work on the car, its a big ask to be able to do that with 3 young kids i cant wait for them to be able to come watch me race it, the kids ask about it every night!

The big gu patrol in after a turbo & haltech conversion to get tuned up!

First job was to finish off the 3” exhaust & remount the rear shocker resevoirs.

We were then tasked with wiring up the water to air water pump & wire in the thermo fans through the haltech, but once tuning started we realised we had a fueling issue under boost pressure was falling off.

A replacement pump & fuel reg were fitted & we were able to finish off the tune resulting in 177rwkw on 8psi boost through the built RE4 auto

We had Brody’s Vy in for a dyno tune after recently completing a manual conversion.

Originally someone else had converted the file to manual with what looked to be the wrong file for the car causing massive fuel consumption & being a daily driver with the current cost of fuel thats definitely not ideal!

We got to work starting with a stock file & tuning the car properly resulting in a solid 272rwkw from the baby cammed stock airbox LS1!
