And so, As the 2023 working year comes to its end, we at Sew Fine Auto Interiors would again like to thank all of our fantastic customers and followers for your support over the years. Without it, we as a business wouldn’t be able to do what we do.
After the rather rocky past few years, with Covid and then all of the roadworks, we’re really excited for how next year is shaping up.
With allocations for full retrims and larger jobs already heavily booked, we’ve definitely got a busy year ahead with some really cool new jobs coming through, as well as finishing off some ongoing long term projects, and of course we still have availability for the day to day repairs etc.

The last jobs out for the year have been completed and picked up, so as of this afternoon, we’ve now finished up for the year and will be taking a break from the workshop, returning on 15th January.
For any enquiries until then, we can be contacted via messenger, however, as well be on break, it may take me a couple of days to get back to you.

So from our family to all of yours, we hope you all have a safe and Happy Christmas and New Years, stay safe, and we’ll see you next year🎄🎄🎄🎄

Not so Quick update on the ongoing Camms rd Level crossing removal, and access for our business. Currently, access is extremely limited due to the building of the new road base, with asphalt works having started this week, and if all goes to plan, should be completed by 1AM on 29th November, when Camms rd is due to reopen….. only another 8 days….
The traffic management teams on site have been absolutely amazing and helpful as much as they can with making sure customers can get in and out with as little inconvenience as possible.

Again, if coming through to see us for a quote or drop off cars for work, let the guys on the checkpoint know that you’re coming in to see us, and they’ll make sure you can get through, although there may be some minor delays if they’re operating machinery in the area across our driveway.

We’re definitely looking forward to the 30th November, having this project over and done with, and Camms rd reopening.

Also, on 30th November, our neighbours at 80 Camms rd, Cranbourne Buy and Sell, will finally be able to re open for business,
After having been forced to close completely for the duration of these works, (OH&S requirements as well as their access completely blocked ) they’re really looking forward to getting back to some kind of normal business

8 DAYS TO GO… 👍🏼👍🏼

Well… officially at the halfway point with this nightmare, and now is the part of this project when things get a far more complicated…. But rest assured WE ARE STILL OPEN!!!
As of this morning,(and without any prior notice), the checkpoint for the Level Crossing Removal work has been moved from 10 mtrs after our driveway, to right before our driveway. Apparently, this is how it will remain until the 31st November when Camms Rd is due to reopen
This means that to access our workshop, any visitors/customers will be stopped at the checkpoint and will need to be es**rted by traffic controllers into and out of our driveway.
We understand the inconvenience for people wanting to come in for quotes, or to have work done, and appreciate everyone’s support while this is going on.

We have also been informed that this weekend, Friday 10th-Monday 13th, we will have our driveway access further restricted, while the road surface is prepared for the resurfacing works that will be undertaken between 21st and 23rd November, and will not have driveway access during this time.

Again, I would like to let people know that we are still open, and if coming in for quotes or dropping off/picking up jobs, please approach the checkpoint boomgate, and respectfully let the traffic controllers know that you’re coming in to see us, and they’ll es**rt you through. For the most part, the staff on the site are understanding of our situation, and are just doing their jobs and trying to keep everyone safe.

I have to admit though, I am looking forward to having this all finalised and behind us.

G’day everyone, I thought I’d put up an update on accessing our workshop while the Camms Rd level crossing removal works are ongoing.
There is currently a lot of signage in the surrounding areas stating Camms Rd is closed, However we are still open for business.
At this point, Camms Rd is completely closed just after our driveway, with a detour sign at the corner of Highview ave and Camms Rd, when coming in to see us, please divert onto the right hand side of Camms Rd around the detour sign, and our driveway Is immediately on the left.
This arrangement will most likely change in the coming weeks as works progress, and I’ll post up again as things change.
Our business hours during this time will remain mostly the same, 9:00am-5:30 pm Monday-Friday, with Saturdays by appointment only.

I will be taking an opportunity at some point during this time to take a well needed break for a couple of days, most likely Melbourne cup weekend, however I’ll update once that’s decided.

18/10/2023

As most of our loyal local customers will already know, as of 7pm tonight 18th October, Camms Rd will be closed at Highview ave for six weeks, and will reopen on 29th November while the Victorian state government level crossing removal project connects the new road bridge to the existing Camms Rd.
During this time, we will remain open as normal for the most part, although access will only be available from the south Gippsland higway.
There will also be a checkpoint at Highview ave, at which any customers wishing to drop off work or get quotes, will only need to let the traffic management personnel know that you’re coming into see us, and they’ll let you through.
Please see the attached map for detours, and access details.

We genuinely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause for our customers, however as I’m sure you all understand, this situation is totally out of our control.
Rest assured, we will be working through these disruptions, albeit with limited access.
