A Gladiator that even Russell Crowe would be proud of! has hand built (literally) one awesome Jeep. We had the pleasure of sorting him out with genuine 4.88 gears, chromo rear axles and full diff rebuilds. Paired with a set of CV’s and axles plus full front diff bracing there’s not much holding this awesome build back now.

Bluetooth is a great addition to any older 4wd, just not when it comes to your control arm mounts! Must have been the week for it! All cleaned up, cracks drilled, ground out and glued back together! If your chassis or diffs are showing signs of stress, call us before they leave the group chat….

How to make a Toyota even better..
Add Nissan parts! This 105 series came in for a bunch of work including swapping the Toyota steering box for a much stronger GU Patrol unit. Using the swap kit it gives you the option to refit a Toyota box should the need ever arise as well as bracing the notoriously weak chassis in all the critical spots. This cruiser will be turning big tyres with ease and peace of mind from here on out.

Seconds from disaster! The owner of this H260 wanted it checked out after twisting an axle and I bet he’s very glad he did. With the diff presenting in really good condition we had high hopes but after being stripped and put through the hotwash the cracks started to show, literally… Being hidden under the pinion fl**ge, without disassembly you would never find them! Cars with big tyres and big power require more checks and maintenance, send us a message today if you think you need your gear checked out.

Braced, shaved and tested! H260 and GU front for a GQ conversion. We shave the H260 with a sacrificial centre installed to maximise clearance and maintain straightness of the housing. Once welded externally we then weld them internally and let sit with 0w20 oil for 3 days to ensure no leaks. The front is braced in all the critical weak spots of the Patrol housing. Cleaned inside and out, quick lick of VHT paint and they’re out the door to their new home.

It’s aircon season again (even in Vic!) and we just wanted to do a little PSA on GU Patrol retro-fit cabin filters… The results speak for themselves, 25°c inside the car, aircon on full until the temp stabilised at 15°c with cabin filters installed and 10°c with them removed! Not only was it significantly cooler without them, the volume of air was far greater. Cabin filters only really work when they’re before the fan, the GU retro-fit places them after the fan, right in front of the aircon evaporator -blocking vital air flow through the core.

Something a bit different across the bench recently, a true HI-9 diff from an LSA Jeep. The diff came in blown up with a Detroit locker, after getting some parts from the U.S. it left with a new bearing kit, revised pinion support, fresh gears and an competition edition locker.

Custom 3” exhaust fabricated for this GU to fit around the existing chassis bracing, tray and 24v battery box. All legal with a muffler, checked at full bump and sounding great!

This diff travelled 2137 km to get to us… all the way from QLD! After dramas getting things fixed properly locally which resulted in the 1st photo, Matt decided to box up his h260 and send it south. The crate arrived to us Sunday night and is back on the truck to QLD Tuesday afternoon! With new genuine 4.3 gears and a rebuild, this should have him sorted.

We’ve always provided support at all Victorian winch challenges and this year was no different. 3 seperate diffs in 12 hours to keep teams racing! Freezing temps, borrowed tools and very much less than ideal conditions to work in but jobs done none the less.
