Short clip from last Holden Drag Nationals . Ready to roll for the next one.

Some good feed back from John Greco on a 355 holden he just finished on the dyno at JPC .
Using a pair of hand ported LHT vn heads matched to a ported torque power dual plane along with a custom hydraulic roller it showed 553hp and 468 ft.lbs. We've used this combo a couple of times in the past and they were around the 540 mark, and same combo in Daniels prem has gone 10.81 at 123 mph weighing 3500 lbs. This engine is heading into an early commodore which will be considerably lighter and should be a handful to steer in a straight line.

Couldn't be happier for Matt Robbo and his family project VC. First time out at a very hot Holden Drag Nationals it went 11.47 @ 118.2 mph. Matt decided to keep the std stroke crank along with a pair of LHT ported early hq heads and LHT ported performer manifold, for that cool under bonnet std look. A set of tri y pipes and a solid flat tappet Marshall cam finish off the combo. Matt didn't touch a thing and with a very soft 60 foot and some track tuning to come I'm confident of his times tumbling. Looking forward to a std stroke 308 grudge race. Cream Tart vs Beige Bomber.

Great weekend at Holden Drag Nationals on the weekend. Bobby's hq pb et and mph, Daniels prem ran in the 10s, Matt's first time in complete new combo in the vc nanna spec. I got a pb mph with a new combo after getting a water leak from thermostat housing on Friday testing and hitting 240 degrees. Worked on it Friday night till late and early Saturday morning , and like the other boys, raced in the hottest and worst air conditions, 30 odd degrees and DA over 2000 feet. Better things to come in the cooler months.
Bobby's HQ. 10.82. 122.13 mph 355 vn solid flat tappet
Daniels prem 10.92. 122.8 mph 355 vn dual plane hyd roller
Matt's VC. 11.47. 118.21. Std stroke 308 early heads performer solid flat tappet.
My ht. 11.271. 120.19. Std stroke 308 early heads performer solid flat tappet.
All four pump fuel, LHT ported heads and manifolds.

Good day at heathcote today with Daniel Raykovski
testing his ht prem with updates to the 355 vn headed holden.
Previous pb with old combo 11.21 @121.
New pb wth new combo 10.81 @122.4.
He also went 123mph a couple of times and reeled off seven 10 second passes while backing up the pb with a 10.83 @123.
The old combo dynoed at JPC went 525hp 464ftlbs.
New combo 540hp 476ftlbs.
Still retaining the LHT ported cast iron heads and LHT ported torque power dual plane, we concentrated on improving intake flow and changed the Marshall hydraulic roller to John's latest version of this cam. We were very happy with the dyno results but wanted to wait for track results before passing judgement, although street driving seemed to indicate it would go quicker. Lots of hard work from both Daniel and myself to develop this combo, and I'm grateful Daniel followed through with lots of track time. This is my favourite 355 combo and with the prem being a 3500/3600 pound car, similar engine in a lighter weight early commodore would be a weapon.. Forgot to mention it was in full street trim, pump 98 and full exhaust including tail pipes.

Nice street combo put together by John Greco
393 cleveland
LHT ported cast iron 2v heads
LHT ported dual plane performer rpm manifold
Marshall custom hydraulic roller.
Previous best result for a 393 with similar specs on this dyno was 517hp 474ft.lbs.
John tried two carbs, a 650dp and an 850 dp.
650 carb. 529hp. 490ft.lbs
850 carb. 544hp 500ft.lbs
Main changes were in the valve job , using a custom profile sear cutter along with a different approach to the chamber shape. Lots of improvement to the low and mid lift flow numbers.
Torque peak came in at 4900 and peak hp at 6500.
This will melt tyres and we know the JPC superflow dyno doesn't fudge numbers like some other dynos out there. We have quarter mile numbers that back up favourably. If you really want to compare, put your engine on the same dyno or go race .

Decided to dyno engine to set a baseline to work from.
We're up to 152 dyno pulls and 70 odd 1/4 mile runs.
Oil pressure still killer. Pretty much ran a pb last run and pulled engine out and now will look at everything and maybe a cam change and try again. This pull is to 7500.

This might end in tears.

Super keen to see this thing on the track. We built and dynoed Dougs 355 a while back. Featuring early cast iron heads and hydraulic roller cam it made 504hp and 447 ft.lbs on the JPC dyno. Doug is working through a list to get it ready. He doesn't know it yet but I'm giving him to xmas or it gets put in my ht. With 60 hp and 60 ft lbs more than my 308 on the same dyno , the ht's pb of 11.225 @118.8 might get reset. Pics show comparison of the 355 to the 308.

Good day at heathcote today.
Got five runs in, little 308 is still alive and bit more left in it. Big thanks to Matt Robb, Mel and Blake for the hand today. Big thanks to my wife Marie-Louise and son Tom. We worked hard for it today.
Five runs in order.
