A NEW SEASON SET TO BEGIN!

The 2022/2023 West Australian Modified Sedan season is set to begin this Saturday afternoon at Narrogin Speedway with a stand-alone event to be held in conjunction with the Perth TQ Car Club attracting a healthy field of fifteen drivers.

With the support of the Narrogin Speedway, Perth TQ Car Club and the WA Modified Drivers Association, the event has a strong prize pool on offer for drivers with a field spear-headed by current West Australian Modified Sedan champion Jason Batchelor.

Batchelor will be joined by a number of prominent Modified Sedan competitors including 2021/2022 WA Modified Sedan Series champion Lee Watt and multiple WA Modified Sedan Series champion Branden Fraser.

Regular faces in the Modified Sedan ranks Luke Fraser, Sam McAuley, Jayke Malcolm Brett Mills and Anthony King will also be in the field, along with Higgs duo of Jason and Jamie Higgs. Local Narrogin driver Paul Stevens will also look to start the summer season off strong, as will Albany’s Laurie Dowsett who is hoping to do a lot more racing in season 2022/2023.

Rejoining the Modified Sedan ranks this weekend will be former WA Modified Drivers Association President, Rick Musarra and Bunbury racer Adam Houston who despite only limited outings in the 2021/2022 summer season won the 2022 Far Western Championships at Shark Bay Speedway during the off season and will hope to continue that form in Narrogin this weekend.

The racing this weekend is not only supported by the Narrogin Speedway Club, Perth TQ Car Club and WA Modified Drivers Association, but is also supported by Speedway Sedans Western Australia who continue to throw their support behind West Australian sedan racing, supplying funds to help give back to Modified Sedan racers across the state.

Racing gets underway from 3pm this Saturday afternoon at Narrogin Speedway Club with a whole support program on offer to support the Modified Sedan action.

The Calendar has been released. Hope to see you guys there.

HERE IT IS!!

The West Australian Modified Drivers Association are pleased to release our calendar for the 2022/2023 season, which is set to be huge with eight rounds of the WA Modified Sedan Series and plenty of non-series events including the SSA Modified Sedan WA Title in Esperance and the SSA Modified Sedan National Title set to be staged at Albany’s Attwell Park Speedway.

In a prelude to the 2022/2023 WA Modified Sedan Series, Narrogin Speedway and the Perth TQ Car Club will host a money meet with a prize pool in excess of $5000 on Saturday October 1st, which will be an exciting way to kickstart Modified Sedan racing in Western Australia.

The 2022/2023 WA Modified Sedan Series will then kick off at the Moora Speedway on Saturday October 22nd, before the series returns to the Bunbury Speedway on Saturday November 12th as part of the Bunbury Car Club 50th Anniversary meeting. A fortnight later, the series will head to the Manjimup Speedway in the south west for the third round of the series and the first visit to the venue for Modified Sedans in quite some time.

Round four of the 2022/2023 series will again return to Make Smoking History Collie Speedway for the annual Christmas Cup event on December 17th, which is an event that often attracts large nominations from drivers across the state and is one not to miss just prior to the busy Christmas and New Year period.

Narrogin Speedway will host the fifth round of the series on Saturday February 4th before we head return to Albany Speedway just two weeks later for the sixth round of the series and a perfect opportunity for drivers to test before the SSA Modified Sedan National Title at Easter.

The series will then take a break over March and April to allow for the running of the SSA Modified Sedan State and National Titles to be held over two big weekends. The penultimate round of the 2022/2023 WA Modified Sedan Series will return to Moora Speedway on Saturday May 13th before the final round heads to Pithara Speedway, a location that is relatively unfamiliar for Modified Sedans.

As our calendar reflects, our committee is still working with the management of the Perth Motorplex to confirm a race date after last year’s successful event. We look forward to confirming this in the weeks to come.

The WAMDA committee are very much looking forward to a huge season of Modified Sedan racing throughout Western Australia and look forward to seeing our drivers hit the track in Narrogin on October 1st.
