YOUNG FARMERS MUST WANT $400?
$400 UP FOR GRABS CAN YOU AFFORD TO MISS THIS FUN OPPORTUNITY? Are you 18-35 years old and reckon you know a thing or two about life in the country or have city smarts and wanna have a go?
Well here’s the chance for you and your crew to flex your skills in the Bellingen Show edition of the Young Farmer Challenge, where teams go head to head against each other in a series of competitive “challenges”. These challenges can be anything from saddling a drum, potato throwing, fencing, shearing a sheep (with coloured chalk), hay stacking and shaving a balloon.
We’d love to see local businesses enter staff teams or come along with a team of mates. There’s $400 up for grabs, but more importantly the glory of the Bellingen Young Farmer title! The winning team has a chance to compete at regional, state and national level to battle it out for the title of Australian Young Farmer Challenge champions.
The competition is open to teams of four people. Teams must have at least one representative from each gender and all must be aged between 18 and 35 years. A registration fee of $20 per team is charged to cover insurance, and waiver forms are required to be signed on the day.

Last Wednesday I was on the way home from Sydney to Hervey Bay. I have a Prado 120 diesel. All of the sudden the car died in Coffs Harbor and the engine icon was on display telling me something was drastically wrong. Managed to limp to Coffs Toyota service department just a few minutes before closing time at 5pm. A quick explanation to two gentlemen at the office. They grabbed a computer and connected it to my car showing them where the problem was. A fuel pump connection. A dodgy connection made by a diesel mechanic a year earlier when the engine has been replaced. Just a bit of insulation tape and I was on the road again. No charge for the job. I don't know the names of these two gentlemen but I like to thank them to help me out in a hoples situation at the time. Thank you very much again.
ANNOUNCEMENT: 2021 COFFS COAST FESTIVAL OF MOTOR SPORT POSTPONED
Coffs Coast Festival of Motor Sport President Bob Carle is disappointed to announce that this year’s Festival will not be going ahead but says it will be back in 2022 bigger and better.
The Festival, scheduled for November, included a range of motor sport events planned to coincide with the finale of the FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) which would have seen international competitors taking part alongside Australian-based teams. The APRC has also recently been cancelled.
Given that competitors from many parts of Australia are unlikely to be able to travel in the short-term, the Coffs Coast Festival of Motor Sport made the decision to cancel the 2021 event to avoid any costly last-minute cancellations for teams, organisers and fans.
Mr Carle thanked those who have contributed to the Festival so far, acknowledging the incredible support the event has received from the local Coffs Coast community and motor sports clubs from Grafton to Kempsey.
“The support from local sponsors has been tremendous, particularly the CeX Group and Geoff King Motors,” said Mr Carle.
“I’d also like to thank the NSW Government for its support of this event, and we hope to be able to confirm details of the 2022 Festival soon, which we know will deliver significant benefits for our region."
“The local community has been extremely supportive of what we’ve tried to achieve, and we’ve had strong backing from the Coffs Harbour City Council,” added Mr Carle.
“While we are disappointed for 2021, we are looking forward to an even bigger and better event in 2022 with many additional local clubs coming forward requesting to stage events.”

He has a great record at the track missing a placing once in his seven starts. He has been freshened up after some terrific runs at metropolitan level and will be ready to fire today.
