Cortis Diesel is looking for a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join our team in 2026.
We’re a small, family-run business built on honesty, teamwork, and quality workmanship. Based in Cloncurry, we take pride in maintaining heavy earthmoving machinery, road trains, and a wide range of mining and agricultural equipment for clients across the region.
What you’ll be doing:
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy earthmoving machinery, road trains, mining, and agricultural equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance, fault finding, and general mechanical repairs
• Conduct inspections and complete accurate service and repair documentation
• Attend breakdowns and field service jobs as required
• Collaborate with clients, operators, and supervisors to minimise equipment downtime
• Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment
What we’re looking for:
• Trade qualification – Diesel Fitter / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (Cert III or equivalent)
• Experience with Caterpillar, Komatsu, Kenworth, Mack, or similar equipment
• Strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
• Current Driver’s Licence
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to safety, reliability, and high-quality workmanship
