In 2025 I had the pleasure to teach a few drivers that are NDIS participants and so far, two of them have passed their PDAs on their first go this year. I did not treat them any differently from non-NDIS drivers.

Their confidence grew, they thrived and both ended up using fewer lessons that they were funded for. They were exceptionally dedicated and their parents were amazing support on their journey.

I have been a support worker for more than 15 years and qualified driving instructor.

It has been so rewarding to me helping these legends and I am happy with how I am able to transfer my support skills with all my learner drivers.

This one made me extremely proud.

Some of us, like my driver here, may take a bit more learning, a bit of extra practice, more focus to achieve our goals.

Don't let anyone hold you back because your needs are different.

I believed she could and she believed she was ready and she passed her PDA for the first time.

Credit to her mum too, who is just a super woman.
