Wrapping up a huge weekend at Brisbane Jamboree. The Maatouks team certainly put on a show.
The weekend started with the send-off burnout for VLGOD. An emotional moment for the whole crew, no doubt, but also a sense of relief and pride looking back and realising just how much we achieved with that car.
A huge thank you to the entire Maatouks Racing team โ you guys know who you are. None of this would be possible without the work that goes on behind the scenes.
Mitch at Tunesmith โ youโve been by my side from the start and continue to make my life that much easier. Thank you, mate.
Afifโs 2JZ Lexus came out victorious in Factory Extreme, with an all MR Engineering final against Rob in ZEUS. After battling a misfire for the first two days, the team turned it around and laid down a mind-blowing 5.73 @ 235 mph. Josh did an incredible job with the chassis, and a massive credit to the entire Mikael Brothers Racing team for rebuilding the car in such a short amount of time.
Cranked Motorsports Australia had Sam running consistent 6-second passes in LTSWAR, getting valuable seat time and finishing with a best of 6.92 @ 203 mph. GODZILLA unfortunately battled a misfire throughout the entire event but still managed an impressive 6.1 @ 232 mph.
Aaron Stubbs in GTRWPN put together a string of 7.0-second passes at over 200 mph โ still a full-weight street car on 255 radials. Hopefully that elusive 6-second pass comes on home soil very soon.
NYTMRE VL debuted its new setup and managed three wins. Unfortunately, the ET wasnโt quite quick enough to make the finals, but it still ran a strong 8.8 @ 166 mph with plenty more left in the new combination.
SIK300 made multiple low-7-second passes, with a best of 7.3, while battling that little 28x9 tyre in the heat. Definitely not an easy task in those conditions.
And Hartas Racingโs VL, still running on E85, reeled off an incredible five 8.2-second passes at over 160 mph while going rounds. Pretty astonishing considering the car is still doing it all on E85.
A massive weekend with plenty of highs, a few battles, and a lot to be proud of.
