Shifters Automotive Mobile Mechanic

10/10/2026

Unfortunately we see a fair bit of questionable work. 🙄🤢

This was a new one we hadn’t seen, this was the first time we had worked on this vehicle.

Assuming the previous Mechanic that serviced the vehicle ordered the wrong Air Filter.

Instead of sourcing the correct one they have just cut a section from the old one and “filled in the gap”. 🙈

We are pleased to announce it now has the correct filter fitted 😀

🏁Powercruise 2026 QLD Raceway🏁

Shifters headed up for a few days away with Michael’s built VP Commodore “Casper”. 👻

It was such an accomplishment to have it on the track after 10 weeks of working late nights to rip out the old Buick V6 engine and converting it to a modern worked LS1 that Michael hand built.

Big thanks to the Following Local Business’s that made this all possible:

DC Tuning & Mechanical for all your help and the tune. Casper finished on 1012NM of Torque and 356HP. It’s definately a lot of fun and puts you into the seat 😉

Pedders Gateshead for the suspension upgrade! As everything was stock as a rock!
The team went above and beyond adding the extra 1% effort in areas we didn’t even expect and put their touch of class to it!

Newcastle Gearbox & Diff for doing the diff upgrade! Trutrac with 3:7 ratios to ensure it was suitable for the new power delivery

Also a huge shout out to everyone else who helped us along the way!

‼️You absolutely have a right to choose your Mechanic‼️

We have heard of so many people being told it’s compulsory to service your car at a dealership.

Completely untrue.

Supporting an independent mechanic gives you:
🚙Personalised Service
🚙Knowledge on who exactly is working on your car
🚙 Higher skilled technicians with advanced diagnostic skills
🚙Transparency- we can show you exactly what we have found or replaced and why!
🚙Ability to ask questions and speak to your mechanic
🚙Lower Costs

We've commenced proceedings in the Federal Court against Subaru for allegedly failing to give independent car repairers equal access to the information they need to repair Subaru cars, in breach of the Motor Vehicle Service and Repair Information Sharing Scheme (MVIS).

The MVIS is a mandatory scheme that promotes competition in the Australian automotive service and repair sector, by ensuring that independent mechanics are given fair and equal access to motor vehicle service and repair information so that they can compete on a level playing field with dealerships.

We allege that by not complying with the MVIS, consumers may have been unable to use an independent, local or family-run repairer, rather than using Subaru's dealership.
