Craig's immaculate VL Turbo was in the workshop for a few well-chosen upgrades. His goal was to retain the classic old-school look, and we were more than happy to respect that.

The upgrades included a Crow TX2 camshaft and valve springs, along with a timing belt kit, water pump, and rocker cover gasket kit to address a few minor oil leaks while everything was apart. We also fitted a new Haltech CDI ignition coil, MSD 6A ignition, Turbosmart eBoost2 boost controller, and an under-car surge tank with a Pierburg fuel pump, all while retaining the factory fuel lines and filter for a clean, factory-style appearance. We also while there did a full engine service including coolant flush

The end result is a reliable, tidy package that stays true to the car's original character. This VL Turbo is an absolute credit to Craig and a testament to the care and pride he takes in owning it.

Kelvin contacted us late last year looking for a complete RB2530 long engine package capable of producing 850whp.

We started with a carefully selected virgin-bore RB30 block and an RB25DET cylinder head before getting to work on the build.

The engine features Nitto Performance Engineering pistons and connecting rods, ARP fasteners throughout, an N1 oil pump fitted with billet gears and a crank collar, a 9-litre sump, head drain kit, Kelford Cams camshafts and valve springs, and our G&T cam and crank trigger kit. It's all finished off with Platinum Racing Products cam covers and adjustable cam gears in tiel.

The engine has now been delivered to Kelvin in Townsville, where it will be fitted while the fabrication and wiring are completed. Once the car is ready, it will be sent back to us so Scott Hoffman can work his magic on the dyno at Cleveland Dyno and bring the package to life.

We're looking forward to seeing the final results of this build.

This RB2530 NEO dry sump engine was originally built by us five years ago for a customer in Tasmania. It was recently acquired by another long-standing client, who returned it to us for inspection and upgrades after extensive use.

The engine had been consistently operated at 9,000 RPM and produced in excess of 900 WHP through a Turbo 400 transmission.

Upon teardown, we identified oil starvation issues—likely due to the engine being converted from its original dry sump configuration to a wet sump setup by the current owner.

To address this, we implemented several improvements. A single 1mm oil restrictor was installed, and the oil drain passages in both the cylinder head and block were modified to improve oil return to the sump. We also fitted full-length splash plates and 8.5 litre Zoo Performance high volume sump for improved oil control.

As part of the refresh, the cylinders were lightly honed and fitted with a new set of Total Seal gapless piston rings. We installed a Nitto Performance Engineering head gasket, ACL Race Series bearings, and a Nitto oil pump. All seals and gaskets were replaced throughout, along with a new water pump.

The engine is now refreshed and ready for its next outing.

This RB30 build for GC Restoration customer car, LIL H, has been an absolute pleasure from start to finish.

The car came in for a freshen-up and full rebuild, and we didn’t hold back. It’s now running Spool Imports H-beam rods, Ross Pistons, ACL Race bearings, ARP studs, an N1 oil pump upgraded with HSE billet gears and a crank collar, plus an aeroflowperformance high-volume sump to keep everything fed properly.

The head was already ported with cam and springs, but we stepped it up further with +1mm oversized valves, all genuine seals, and a nittoperformanceengineering head gasket to tie it all together.

On the intake side, it’s running a CPC carbon plenum paired with a boschaustralia 82mm DBW throttle body, while the exhaust setup features a 6boost manifold and a G35-1050 turbo, supported by Zoo Performance oil and water lines.

Built right, dialled in, and ready to perform.

With the help of Scott Hoffman from Cleveland Dyno, it now makes a comfortable 581hp at 23psi on 98.

Hayden came to us looking to tidy up his engine bay, along with a few upgrades — including a cam, valve springs, general maintenance, and wiring for additional sensors.

On the previous tune, with the same turbo setup, the car produced 360hp at 18psi on 98.

After the work, it now puts down:
460hp at 18psi on 98
575hp at 21psi on E85 (limited by the fuel system)

A big thanks to the man himself, Scott Hoffman from Cleveland Dyno, for working his magic and delivering an amazing result as always.

A massive improvement all round, and it’s only scratching the surface.
