Credit to transport for NSW Short answer is, no! You can’t ‘reserve’ or ‘mind’ a parking space for your mate

This is really annoying as well as illegal and unsafe. Pedestrians must not cause a traffic hazard by moving into the path of a driver. So not only is it a dodgy move, but it could also see you getting a fine for doing so

Pedestrians are vulnerable. They don’t
have airbags, seatbelts or a steel frame to protect them.As drivers, we must give way to pedestrians in a range of situations, including at crossings, when turning and when entering or leaving driveways.
** Slow down, stay alert and be prepared to stop, even if a pedestrian should give way.
As a pedestrian, be aware of your surroundings, look both ways and only cross when it’s safe to do so.
Let’s look out for each other. Everyone
deserves to get home safe.

NSW Road Safety - NSW GOV

Provisional drivers are allowed to use the radio, CD player, and can use a navigation device (that is not a mobile phone) for example a GPS.
The GPS device must be in a holder fixed to the vehicle and not obscure the drivers view of the road or built into the vehicle.
! Learner and provisional licence holders aren’t permitted to use their mobile phone at all while driving. This applies regardless of whether the phone is being used through Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.

Credit to road safety nsw :🐢 Are there any laws against driving too slowly?

While getting stuck behind a slower driver can be frustrating, it’s important to remember that there are valid reasons for driving below the speed limit, such as poor weather, road hazards or other conditions that make it unsafe.

However, a driver mustn’t unreasonably obstruct the path of another driver or pedestrian. A driver isn’t considered to be obstructing traffic unless they’re travelling abnormally slowly for the circumstances.

One example given in the road rules is a driver travelling at 20 km/h on a road with an 80 km/h speed limit when there’s no valid reason to be driving that slowly.
