A Saturday Evening looking mint at Chargers RC. The club has added a lot of new additions to the facility. This couldn’t be possible without a strong and dedicated committee, members and sponsers.
Thank you to you all that support Chargers RC 💪🏼😎

Event Wrap from a proud Club President – SpeedyRC Online Store 2026 QLD 1/10th Off‑Road State Titles at Chargers RC.

This was the best event I’ve ever attended. Yes, it ran smoothly. Yes, the weather was perfect. Yes, the racing was unreal. Yes I'm probably a tad biased........but the real reason it stood out for me was the vibe — the smiles, the handshakes, the pats on the back, the chats, the camaraderie, the mate‑ship, the helping each other out. These things made the 2026 QLD State Titles an event I’m genuinely proud to have been part of.

Friday – Practice
Friday practice was spot‑on. Race control was sharp and organised thanks to Jenno Dot Auu and Mitch on the Mic. Scrutineering started a little shaky, but Nathan Marsh, Travis Condon, and myself got it sorted quickly. With 80% of competitors checked in early, the tone was set — fast laps, good vibes, and the clear message that making an A‑main this weekend was going to take perfection… and maybe a little luck.🤞

Saturday – 2WD, Juniors, Short Course Truck
Saturday delivered intense qualifying and excellent racing across all classes. A minor laptop hiccup was fixed quickly, and the day ran smoothly and on time.
A highlight was seeing a full field of Juniors out there loving the sport. Future stars were on display, with our own Oliver Prince RC taking the win in 2.

Our club legends also shone:🏁
Christopher Sturdy CS13 – 2WD Mod Champion
Rob Maycock – 2WD Stock Champion

Short Course went to RC Legend and top bloke Scotty Giles, rounding out titles in every state!! Glad you could achieve it at Chargers!

And a special shoutout to Jenno Dot Au, who ran Short Course for the first time and snagged a podium in 3rd!

Sunday – 4WD & Stadium Truck
Sunday kept the momentum rolling — well‑run, great racing, big battles, and plenty of laughs. Stadium Truck B main was peak entertainment, with Cayote Bott sending backflips in his Cayote T7 and the crash and bash fest up front keeping the crowd roaring!
The top‑10 shootout capped the day perfectly with jibes and full sends entertaining us all.
More titles for our crew:🏁
Christopher Sturdy CS13 – 4WD Mod
Rob Maycock – 4WD Stock
Phoenix Eggleton (Phoenix RC Racer) – Stadium Truck

Top 10 Shootout - 4wd Stock - Harry Lawrance

Top 10 Shootout - 4wd Mod Jordan Isergin - RC Driver (Lap of the Gods!!)

Personally, Qualifying 10th in a stacked field to make the A‑main and finish 7th overall in 4WD Stock was the icing on the cake. A 5th in A2 and finishing all three mains on the lead lap — absolutely stoked.

Thanks:
Events like this only happen because of dedicated, selfless volunteers. I want to acknowledge everyone who made this weekend what it was.

Core Contributors
Jenno Dot Au – When I said he was 70% of the event, I probably undersold it. Jenno is the lifeblood of Chargers RC. His passion and contribution is truly admirable.

Committee: Peter Vergottini, Nathan Marsh, Travis Condon, Adrian Field, Dimitri Roumeliotis, Mark Fichou.

Club Legends: Always putting in a huge effort - Shaun Turner, Andrew Donaldson, John Perkins.

Canteen Crew
Peter Vergottini (Onsey) was an absolute machine. The canteen was one of the best I’ve ever seen at an RC event. The food was amazing. The bacon and egg (and tomato) rolls....👌Huge thanks to:
Matt Roberts – for organising the incredible meat from sponsors Meat You Here Butchers at Greenslopes, and helping in the Canteen Friday/Saturday despite not being 100% (get well soon mate).
Shaun Turner, Augustin Salcedo, Jayson Connor, and others who jumped in. Shaun Turner also did a lot of shopping and organising. (This guy is everywhere at once. An absolute top human!)
Pete put in three massive days plus shopping before and after each day. Seeing him win the RC10 Graphite from Model Engines was perfect — no one deserved it more IMO.

Race Control:
Flawless work from Mitch on the Mic (Mitchell Pratt) and Jenno Dot Au. Minor glitches were handled instantly and professionally.

Scrutineering:
Thanks to those who gave up their own prep and racing time:
Friday: Nathan Marsh, Travis Condon, Shaun Turner
Saturday: Nathan “DQ” Marsh (Dominic Blackman knows!), Jason Ryan, Brett Ryan, Shaun Turner
Sunday: Damian Absolon, Agustin Salcedo, Ben Walsh, Kosh Kelley

Track & Event Support:
Too many to list, but special mentions to:
Nathan Don Graham – multiple track prep sessions
Scotty Mackellar – track prep, mowing, marshalling
Toby Mason (Paul Mason) – marshalling
Jayson Connor - marshalling
Harley Prince – helping all weekend wherever needed
Scott Supple – whipper‑snipping and cleaning Thursday
John Perkins – always there, before, during, and after.......
And to everyone who helped set up and pack down — thank you.

Interstate Drivers:
Thank you for making the trip and supporting the event. Great meeting so many of you.

Personal Thanks:
To my best mate Luca Bott — thanks for coming up, supporting me through my first State Titles at Chargers RC, keeping my head straight, and making sure my cars made the track.😉

To my wife Jacqui Molle — thank you for putting up with my RC addiction.🥰
