This Mercedes-Benz CLA250 came in with an oil leak, but before we could pinpoint exactly where it was coming from, we needed to degrease and clean the area properly.

Once everything was clean, we could trace the leak back to the oil filter housing/cooler gasket & the turbo feed & return.

A proper diagnosis matters — sometimes you need to clean everything up first before you can see exactly where the oil is escaping from.
Don’t pay dealer prices just because they tell you that you have to.

BEEN THROUGH MUD & WATER? DON’T JUST WASH THE OUTSIDE!

A weekend of serious 4x4ing, mud runs or driving through deep water can cause damage that you might not see straight away.

Mud and water can get into:
Suspension & steering components
Brakes & wheel bearings
CV joints & driveline components
Electrical connections
Oils, fluids & other vital components

This LandCruiser was towed into B.I.B Mechanical after some serious 4x4ing — as it wouldn’t start.

We’ve replaced the battery, alternator, drive belt and tensioner, along with all the oils and fluids.

Once the customer has taken it away and given it a good clean, it’ll be coming back to us for another thorough inspection underneath — including the suspension, steering and other components that are difficult to properly inspect while covered in mud.

If you’ve been playing in the mud, it pays to get your 4WD checked properly afterwards.

A good example of why engine mounts shouldn’t be overlooked during a service or inspection.
Mount on the left worn and deteriorated, allowing far more engine movement than it should. Not to mention very dangerous.

Worn engine mounts can cause:
