Another big one heading home after a complete build, this LS3 powered VF came to us to diagnose a ticking noise after having a cam package fitted elsewhere in the past, unfortuantley failed lifter roller resulted in a damaged cylinder wall.

Needless to say we were happy to put together a fresh engine combo, filled with quality parts that we know will last.

With a small overbore and normal engine rebuild stuff we saved the bottom end, fitted it out with one of our cam packages to ensure reliability long term, topped off with Cnc ported heads

The results speak for themselves 530whp on 98 fuel

A couple of very tidy classics we had the pleasure of doing some major maintenance on (Yes we do more than just Dyno tuning)

Nice little HZ GTS in for a rear end overhaul, rebuilt braking system and wheel bearings, all new rear end bushes and of course a rebuild of the old quadrajet

67 Chevelle we had in for some very similar works, major service, cooling system overhaul and rear end freshen up. Rebuilt Drum brakes due to failed axle seals, new wheel bearings to go along with them.

Unfortunately the Chevelle rear end was fitted a c clip eliminator kit, resulting in some obscure bearings used - making replacement in Australia very difficult.

However we were able to measure the bearings, and modify the axles to accept a commonly available bearing to make servicing easier in the future.

Need someone who thinks outside the box to keep your classic on the road? We can take care of you!

Tidy little VE clubby we had in for a proper tune last week, always a bit interesting when they’ve been tuned elsewhere.

Pretty typical combo, LS3 with a harrop 2300 and a cam package

This particular car we found all of the torque management for the trans shifting completely disabled, not a super great idea if you want the trans to last.

We also found the wide open throttle tuning to be ok, but the drivability and lighter load tuning left a bit to be desired.

After we got it all cleaned up we checked to see if there was any power left on the table while staying conservative

Finished up making 660whp on 12psi 98 fuel

We only found an extra 30hp, but the drivability difference is night and day.

Another big job wrapped up and back to the customer

Michaels FG came to us completely standard, wanting a reliable package that’ll comfortably make some power without compromising reliability

After removing the engine we got to work tearing it down fitting all our usual Barra upgrades along with some general maintenance stuff.

There’s plenty that goes into building a reliable combo, but the short run down

PSR 3584 gen 3
PSR 45mm external gate
PSR intercooler kit
4” turbo back exhaust
1000cc injectors
Kelford springs and retainers
Billet pump gears and backing plate
ARP Head studs

Keeping things super safe we finished up at 552whp on 16psi on 98 fuel

It’ll be great to see this thing back for some future upgrades to e85 down the road

Commodore kinda week at the shop, finished off with a typical “Just needs a tune” kinda job

This VZ came to us from another shop, after they’d changed a pile of parts without any actual diagnostics, or resolutions.

After 20 minutes of proper diagnosis, we found a sad coil, a slow to respond o2 sensor and some wild fuel trims all resulting from the above.

Once we rectified the mechanical issues, we got it on the dyno and found it actually wasn’t that far off, aside from the fuel pressure dipping up high the tuning actually not bad.

New fuel pump and a touch up of the tune we found some small power gains but a massive drivability improvement.

Finished up just shy of 400whp through the 4l60

Nice and clean VF SS in for the usual Lobley Performance touch

Basic little bolt on combo netting some great power gains

Stock LS3 fitted with:
VCM OTR
Full Exhaust including headers
Custom mafless tuned

Finished up a solid 436whp through the manual, making this a blast to drive

Diesel kinda week at the shop over the couple of weeks

Quite a few 4JJ3 BT50/Dmaxs getting some mods and tuning and a rogue biturbo ranger thrown in there

The 4JJ3’s really respond well to a bit of tuning, with massive power and torque improvements, while still seeing nearly 2L/100 of improvement in fuel economy!

Tidy little s14 back in the shop for a bit of modernisation, we did a built motor for this back in 2024, reusing the original hotside and old haltech setup.

Since the turbo has recently failed, it was time for a more modern setup.

Since it was going to a modern ecu, we opted to switch over to DBW since the customer wants to add a keypad, air con and cruise control in the future (shoutout )

With the fab finished the old platinum plugin was swapped out for a nexus variant, with a full suite of the normal sensors

On this particular flex tune we didn’t actually make it to the e85 portion, simply because the owners satisfied with the results on 98

The Dyno sheet shows the proof, with the old 3071 setup making 400whp on 18psi, and the new g30-770 making 517whp on 23psi

We seem to be reviving everyone’s long lost projects lately, and we enjoy it!

This soarer has sat for an unknown amount of time, but judging by the super old school hotside it’s been a little while.

We got to work finishing off where the owner had started, full custom engine loom to suit the haltech 2500 accompanied by a complete sensor package to be displayed on the IC-7

With an unknown history of the engine we kept this super safe, finishing up making just shy of 400whp on 20psi, more than enough to blow the cobwebs out of it for now.

After some other problems are sorted by the owner I’m sure we will see this back for a modern turbo upgrade and some more responsive power

19/04/2026

Beautiful little LC XU1 we had the pleasure of getting back up and running for the owner.

After sitting for over 10 years we got to work on rebuilding the webers, a full mechanical once over including all rebuilt braking system, a quick once over of the engine and she’s back to singing like it did all those years ago.

We’ve done a lot of triple Weber Holden sixes over the years, but this little 186 takes its place as the most powerful we’ve done to date.

Reeling off an impressive 202whp this will be a blast to drive on the street and track.

The lead up to is always pretty brutal for us, and this year was no different!

Absolutely massive amount of effort went into getting new weapon all sorted out and ready to go, after a complete revamp of the whole car, the results are proof of what you can accomplish with a good team behind you.

With all the fab sorted, it was time for us to get to work on wiring up the haltech nexus and pd16, we’ve tried to future proof the harness for any future upgrades, with a focus on reliability and ease of maintenance

Our team clocked in a little over 200 hours just in wiring, in a 3 week period

After 18 months of work it was rewarding to hear our 2J singing again, this time with a bit more of a refined setup

We finished up maxing out the G35-900, just topping out the maximum turbo speed on 25psi

Final power number of 859whp on 25 psi and a small shot of nitrous, and 718whp with out the spray.

Track testing went very well, with only a couple of small issues to sort out, we spent most of the weekend trying to get the suspension setup dialed back in.

A big shoutout to all those who helped along the way
