POWERCRUISE PREP — 413HP & 727NM 🔥

This one came into EFA Motorsports for a tune and check-over before Powercruise, and once we got into it, there was a fair bit more going on than expected.

The car had previously been set up to run E85, but we found the ECU stoich value was still set around 14.7:1 — essentially a petrol calibration rather than being correctly configured for E85.

It was also still configured looking for a MAF sensor that was no longer fitted, and there was no intake air temperature sensor, so we wired and configured a new IAT sensor to give the ECU the information it actually needs.

Then we found a few more issues:

🔧 One injector stuck open
🔧 Passenger-side exhaust partially blocked, causing different AFR readings bank-to-bank
🔧 Cam fitted with no supporting valve springs or pushrods
🔧 Previous E85 calibration needing to be completely corrected

With the existing 627cc injectors having an issue, we fitted a healthy set of factory 6.0L injectors. For this mild cam combination they’re still comfortably within an acceptable duty cycle, so there was no need to throw unnecessary parts at it.

Once the mechanical issues were sorted and the calibration was rebuilt around what was actually in the car, we could finally get it dialled in properly on the Mainline.

Final result: 413.1HP & 727.7NM 💪🔥

More importantly, we now have a car that’s running healthy and a tune that actually matches the combination — ready to head off and have some fun at Powercruise.

Dyno tuning isn’t always about chasing the biggest number. Sometimes it’s about finding what’s wrong, fixing it properly and making sure the car is ready to be driven hard.

FRIDAY KNOCK-OFF AT EFA MOTORSPORTS 🔥🏁

That’s another busy week done and dusted, and the shop has been absolutely alive.

This week we’ve had two LS engines removed and completely stripped down, now ready for their rebuilds, plus another LS pulled out today ready for a few tweaks to get it sorted for the turbo package we’re putting into it. 🔥

Between the engine work, servicing, repairs and performance jobs, the Mainline has been singing as well, with a few dyno tunes knocked over to finish the week strong.

Three LS engines out, builds underway, cars on the dyno and plenty more lined up for next week — exactly how we like it.

From a basic tune or performance upgrade through to head & cam packages, turbo installs, full engine builds and complete performance packages, we can take care of the lot in-house.

Time to shut the doors, reset and get ready to do it all again next week. 🤙

307HP IN ➡️ 372HP OUT 🔥

This VE came into EFA Motorsports basically factory and still running the stock cam, laying down 307hp on its initial run.

The goal wasn’t to go crazy — just give it a proper freshen-up, fix a few things and wake it up.

💻 Dyno tune

With everything completed and dialled in on the Mainline, it rolled out making 372hp — a 65hp improvement while still running the factory camshaft.

A great result from a simple street package, with plenty more left on the table if the owner decides to take the next step.

🔥 FRANKENSTEIN IS ALIVE! 🔥

After getting Luke’s new race car Frankenstein into the EFA Motorsports workshop running a little rough, the team put in some long hours getting it sorted and race ready.

We worked through a number of faults in the Haltech system, carried out the required rewiring and, importantly, got the vehicle’s safety systems back up and functioning correctly after finding they had previously been disabled.

With the electrical faults sorted and a solid tune-up on the dyno, Frankenstein is now running better than ever and ready to race.

And we’re not stopping at the workshop door — the EFA Motorsports crew is up in Townsville this weekend supporting Luke for his first race in the new car. 🏁

With the dyno now fully operational, the response has been unreal. We’ve already had a steady stream of cars through the doors, and the bookings just keep coming.

It’s Saturday night and the team is still hard at it on the dyno, getting through the current backlog so we can keep wait times down and remain available for new bookings.

Don’t worry—we’re still tuning throughout the week. We’re simply putting in the extra hours now to stay ahead of demand, keep our engine builds and servicing on schedule, and make sure you don’t miss out.

This is only the beginning. Bigger builds, bigger power and more exciting projects are already lined up.

🔥 The first of many… 🔥

This Holden VY Ute is in the workshop for a full health check and baseline dyno run before the real fun begins.

Every serious build starts with knowing exactly what you’ve got. A base run gives us the data we need to plan the build properly and measure the gains once it’s all finished.

This one’s about to undergo a massive transformation, including:

• Big turbo kit
• Full airbag suspension
• And plenty more still to come… 👀

By the time we’re finished, this won’t just be another VY—it’ll be a true street and show machine.
