Gigglepin Australia

NOW THAT’S A CHALLENGING TRACK on you OWN.

How good would it be to have terrain like this on your own property?

This one’s a couple of years old, but well worth another look!

Great effort from boofs adventures & 4x4, tackling some serious rocks with his young son along for the adventure - a future navi in training, perhaps!

The Gigglepin winch certainly earned its keep, helping them through some tricky sections. but ufortunately, the vehicle had other ideas, with a mechanical failure bringing the outing to an early finish.

QUESTION: If you were heading into terrain like this without another recovery vehicle, what would you take along and what would you check before heading out?

BEACH RECOVERY… WHAT WOULD YOU DO DIFFERENTLY?

We've all seen recoveries that don't quite go to plan, and sometimes we've been the ones in the thick of it!

We had a memorable one at Robe in South Australia.

We got bogged. Then our recovery vehicle got bogged too. We were facing opposite directions, and were too far apart and yes, the tide was coming in!

We had to get creative and managed to winch ourselves out by wrapping our rope around a sand dune, but we were very lucky that day. It's an experience we haven't forgotten! We also learned to be more observant. Why were there no other tracks were on that beach - why?? I reckon the locals knew more than we did!

So we're certainly not here to judge anyone in this video. Things can go wrong, even with the best intentions.

With the benefit of hindsight, what would you do differently in this situation?

Would you change your preparation, recovery setup or approach? Or recognise a point where it's better to stop and get help?

Share your thoughts, and if you've ever had a beach recovery go pear-shaped, we'd love to hear what you learned! Better still - share your favourite pic of yourself ini a similar situation or of you helping in a recovery.

REBUILDING YOUR WARN 8274? THINK AHEAD!

When your WARN 8274 top housing is worn or damaged, genuine replacement parts aren't your only option.

A genuine WARN blank top housing costs $710.

A Gigglepin single-motor blank top housing is $1,267.94, an extra $557.94.

SO WHY SPEND MORE?

With over 35 years of high-mount winch experience, Gigglepin has built its reputation on developing stronger, faster and more capable WARN 8274 upgrades. Tried, tested and proven in demanding off-road competition.

The Gigglepin single-motor housing brings some serious improvements:

⚙️ Lighter, stronger casting
⚙️ Narrower design for easier servicing
⚙️ Improved O-ring sealing
⚙️ Larger oil filler plug
⚙️ Flexible motor mounting positions

WANT TO TAKE IT FURTHER?

For another $337.06, bringing the total to $1,605, you can have the housing supplied with your choice of gearset, running on four roller bearings.

SIX GEAR RATIOS. ONE PRICE. YOUR CHOICE.

Standard, +15%, +25%, +40%, +50% or +60%.

What does that mean? The faster gear ratios increase your winch's line speed, so you can bring the rope in quicker. Choose the gearing that suits how you use your winch.

Considering a different setup? Gigglepin also offers two-speed options. Talk to us about what suits your build.

We know times are tough. Not everyone needs the fastest or most expensive setup. It's about making your rebuild budget work harder and knowing your options before spending your hard-earned money.

SPEND ONCE. SPEND RIGHT.

Reckon this fella might be due for a GP upgrade!

Stuck in the mud, broken winch cable and an unexpected night on the track.

Thankfully, 4WD24/7 came along the next day to lend a hand. What legends.

Whether it’s upgrading your WARN high mount with Gigglepin performance components, investing in a two-speed setup, or simply carrying a rope splicing kit, being prepared can make all the difference.

Because the middle of nowhere is a bloody inconvenient place to discover what your recovery gear can’t do.

Gigglepin– Upgrade before you need it.
