We beat the weather!

Thanks to everyone that came out today to enjoy the sun. Only the last few cars in run 5 encountered some wet stuff.

What a field!

52 entries are locked in for tomorrow’s 1 lap hillclimb at SDMA.

We are getting to the exciting end of the year with only 1 more event after this one with the Club Championship certain to go down to the wire.

Tomorrow’s weather could throw a spanner in the works with a good chance of a wet circuit. 🌧 You won’t want to miss this one!

First car hits the track at 9am. Spectator entry is free as always and the Pitstop Café will be operating.

🐝It’s another hillclimb week!🐝

Before we get to Sunday we have a special deal for all members and friends of SDMA.

Do you like engaging in fascinating conversations whilst enjoying morning tea on the house?

All you need to do is turn up on Saturday morning at 9am to help with a few odd tasks (including the construction of a new tyre wall near the dipper) and all this could be yours.

No experience is required and you’ll be given all the instruction and help you need from your friendly Committee Members. There will be tasks for all abilities.

If you can spare an hour or two on Saturday to help get everything in shape it would be appreciated.

Make sure you wear appropriate clothing and safety apparel if assisting with some of the more intensive jobs (boots, gloves, safety glasses etc).

Members are asked to register on Member Jungle if they are able to make it. Others can email [email protected] to offer assistance.

If you can help out at this working bee it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks to everyone that visited the SDMA crew today at the Canberra Japanese Motor Festival.

It was great to see so much interest in hillclimb and meet some new faces!

Congratulations to the organisers on an incredible turnout.

The Canberra Japanese Motor Festival is on this Sunday 18th October at Thoroughbred Park from 10am to 3pm.

If you want to know just how easy it is to get started in motorsport as an entrant or official, make you sure you visit the SDMA stand where you’ll be able to chat with some members of the team and check out some of the Japanese machinery that frequents our hillclimb track.

Can’t wait to see everyone there!

From the Hill to the Mountain!

In 2019, a 14-year-old competed in the SDMA March hillclimb in a Toyota 86.

On the weekend, that same driver put his Matt Stone Racing Chevrolet Camaro on pole position for the Bathurst 1000 before securing his first Supercars podium on Australian Motorsport’s biggest stage.
