Club member Craig Pincott, owner of the BMW 130i Rally Car that tackled the Bega Rally 2026, has shared a full rundown of the car, the stages and the adventure. With Jimmy behind the wheel and Monika navigating, it was one hell of a return to rallying - and we’re already keen for the next update!

“15 stages over 2 days and nights, covering 550 km…
Seeded 40th out of 62 and holding a solid mid‑field position for most of the rally across fast shire roads, finishing in the tighter, twistier sections around Eden. The 130i didn’t miss a beat — just fuel and Windex at each service break.

The car runs a standard BMW engine and drivetrain, with an automatic diff ratio on an L*D centre, MCA Gold suspension, MA‑logbooked cage, full safety gear, underbody protection, Laser lights and Pirelli tyres.

After four years out of the sport, Jimmy and Monika — her first event as navigator — used the rally to settle into a steady rhythm and move upward through the field. Our goals were simple: finish, learn and have fun. We treated it more like an endurance event than a sprint.

Monika unfortunately became carsick two stages from the end, and with the second‑last 40 km stage cancelled due to a major crash and a fallen tree blocking the road, we made the call to retire the car and preserve our navigator for the Bay Stages next month.”

What an awesome morning at Ollies Garage! A huge thank you to Tina and Ian Oliver for welcoming us into their incredible museum.

We were treated to a seriously impressive collection — unique cars, rich history, and walls full of brilliant memorabilia. Ian shared fantastic stories about his automotive journey, the origins of Ollies' Garage, and of course his two stunning BMWs. We’re very lucky to have him as a long‑time club member.

It was also inspiring to hear how Ollies' Garage gives back to the community, supporting local charities and local motorsport teams.

We’re already looking forward to coming back to see the rotating displays. Thanks to everyone who joined us, and another big thanks to Tina and Ian for their hospitality.

The Ultimate Mystery Drive delivered in style today and what a turnout! We had 36 cars join the adventure, carving through some absolutely stunning back roads on the way to our secret destination: the always‑welcoming Wee Jasper Distillery.

Beautiful scenery, great company, and plenty of those classic country vistas that make a drive like this special. Huge thanks to the team at Wee Jasper for hosting us, top people, top spot.

And of course, thank you to everyone who came along! 🙏

Stay tuned… the next Ultimate Mystery Drive is already brewing. 😉

Several club members were fortunate to have received invitations to the local launch of the Neue Klasse iX3. Long time member Mark Sander, had his beautiful Inka Orange 2002 on display to reference the heritage of the original Neue Klasse.

Thanks to Canberra BMW for a memorable and fun night!
