We're incredibly proud to support the FNQ Marlins and to see outstanding achievements like this recognised on the state stage.

A huge congratulations to Aengus Dickson on his Queensland Police Service State Team selection and being named Defensive Player of the Carnival. Those honours are a testament to the hard work, dedication and leadership he brings both on and off the field.

‼️STATE SELECTION & DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE CARNIVAL🏉🔥

FNQ Marlins co-captain and backrow enforcer Aengus Dickson has capped off a dominant QPSRL State Carnival on the Gold Coast, earning selection in the Queensland Police Service State side while also taking home the prestigious Defensive Player of the Carnival award.

Throughout the tournament, Aengus led from the front with the toughness, intensity and work ethic that has become synonymous with FNQ Marlins football. Whether it was heavy contact through the middle, relentless defensive pressure or turning momentum with sheer effort, Aengus consistently stood tall against the some of the state’s best.

His performances across the carnival showcased not only his leadership as co-captain, but his ability to inspire those around him through grit, resilience and uncompromising defence. Time and time again, Dickson put his body on the line for the Marlins, setting the tone for the squad with every carry, tackle and effort play.

Recognition in the QPS State side is a deserved reward for a player who embodies what FNQ rugby is all about, while Defensive Player of the Carnival further cements his reputation as one of the premier forwards in Queensland police rugby league.

Congratulations Aengus on an outstanding carnival. The FNQ couldn’t be prouder and we know you’ll continue to do the Marlins jersey proud 💪🌴
