2026 Australian Kart Masters – Honouring Ian Brown

This year, with the TaG Restricted Medium field oversubscribed, we returned to the event's original format of age divisions.

The Russell Grimson Memorial Trophy, a perpetual award honouring a much-loved member of our Masters karting family and one of the founding members of this event, was designated to be presented to the winner of the TaG Restricted Medium 50–59 category, the same age bracket that Russell competed in and loved so much.

Congratulations to Gavan Whitmore, who claimed victory in the 50–59 class. In a wonderful display of the camaraderie and sportsmanship that the Australian Kart Masters is renowned for, Gavan chose to share this special honour with the winner of the TaG Restricted Medium 40–49 class, Jeremy Evans.

What a fitting tribute to Russell's spirit and the friendships that make this event so unique.

👏 Congratulations to both Gavan Whitmore and Jeremy Evans on being recognised with the Russell Grimson Memorial Trophy. We know Russell would have been proud. ❤️🏁🏆
