Hi i was called to diagnose this 2008 E90 335i BMW with a 6 Cylinder
N54 engine
The car would go into limp mode and keep logging Vanos timing codes
After carrying ont many te**es i found the vanos cam gears were intermittently faulting
So using my BMW timing tools i striped down the top parts and rocker cover on this engine
And replaced the inlet and exhaust vanos cam gears
Once i completed all the work i was able to road test this car and confirm another successful repair
the car was returned to another happy customer

I diagnosed this VE SS with all four left side coils not firing
I check my Holden wiring diagrams and check my power supplies
Then i lab scoped the ecu coil signals and all o.k
So i now checked my earth circuits and found my earths were missing
I repaired the earth circuits and now have 8 cylinders firing.
This shows how important it is to diagnose correctly and follow a diagnostic routine that i have developed over many years.
No parts were thrown at this car and another happy customer

I was asked to repair this on going vanos problem to this 2011 325 BMW.
The car would intermittently log a fault code 2A82 inlet vanos.
This fault needs a new inlet vanos gear unit
I am a european specialist and have a vast experience doing these jobs and have the timing tools for some of these cars.
With out the correct tools and experience there are a lot of problems you will run into on many late model engines.
This car is all fixed and returned to another happy customer

I was called to reflash and up date the engine computer on this 2011 Mazda 3.
most manufactures have update software for certain problems with their cars
This Mazda update was to correct a rear o2 sensor post catalytic efficiency fault
If everything checks out o.k for this fault then a reflash update will fix this fault.

This 2007 Mercedes Benz ML63 had a severe top end engine noise
I diagnosed it was loudest from the left hand bank.

So i started to strip down and inspect for damage on the camshafts and cam lifter buckets
I found that the no 1 cylinder camsharft and cam bucket damaged
using my Mercedes Benz timing tools i was able to set the engine valve timing and remove the inlet cam
The cam has some wear to it but the front cam bucket was extremely worn through.
I replaced all the necessary parts and reassemble all the top end
i torqued down all the bolts using Mercedes specifications
I used a BG engine flush and drove the car on a long road test to let the flush work its way through the engine and lifters.
while hot i was able to drain out the oil and replace the filter
I then refilled with Mobile 1 AMG engine oil and now the engine is quite and smooth
The car was returned to another happy customer

I can update and Re-flash the software for Mazda Engine ecu’s
using oem Mazda factory software

This is sometimes required to fix engine faults that keep returning like a common fault with Mazda 3 2009 models and earlier which have a fault code P2096-Post catalyst fuel trim system too lean

If there are no vacuum leaks or sensor faults then the update software maybe required

This is a 2013 Mercedes benz G Wagon AMG it has a ABS ESP fault with several dash warning lights on.
I first use my Autologic scanner and scan for faults
The codes were indicating a right rear wheel speed sensor fault.

I was able to confirm the fault with live data on my scanner and a road test showed no speed reading at the right rear wheel.

A inspection of the rear wiring showed a damaged wiring harness on the right side.

I found the correct WIS Mercedes wiring diagram and was able to identify the locations of the rear wheel speed sensors plug connections.
I was able to strip open the wiring harness and found broken wiring.
The wiring was repaired and ohms tested and all parts refitted
I was now able to clear the ESP fault codes and with live data i was able to road test and confirm the wheel speed signals are all o.k

This is a 2014 VW Golf with a 1.6 Diesel engine.
The problem with this car is when it starts it will miss fire badly and when the revs are held up excessive smoke starts to blow out the exhaust pipe.
I connected my Autologic scanner and scanned all modules and found no engine codes.
So i needed to check the compression of the engine and to do that i needed to remove the glow plugs and fit my high pressure diesel compression gauge and test all cylinders.
All cylinder compression were good.
Next i suspected contaminated fuel so i now disconnect the fuel line to the high pressure pump and fit my diesel fuel tank eliminator this feeds good know diesel from my tank and straight to the high pressure pump.
This test showed no difference to my fault so this is not a fuel contamination problem.
Next i removed the EGR pipe and blocked the intake manifold port and ran the engine.
This proved that excessive unburnt fuel was coming out the exhaust.
I next check my live data and looked at the injector readings and confirmed that this car has fault fuel injectors.
I also connected my Pico lab scope to each fuel injector and check the current draw on each injector.
I recommend new fuel injectors to be fitted a new fuel filter and the new injectors will need to be coded to the engine ecu.
