Monster Ignition Monster Ignition specialises in MSD Pro Mag 12amp Magneto and Points Box servicing and repairs.

With over 30 years race engine experience and always trying to do as much as possible in house we always worked on our own ignition systems. We have a Vane Distributor machine that can spin a complete Pro Mag 12LT ignition system well past 8,000 engine rpm. We can also test magneto generator output and also voltage at the coil and spark plug and miliseconds of burn time.

12 months today since the passing of a true icon in Australian motor racing. John Sidney. I was fortunate enough to become friends with John and cheekily said while leaving his workshop one day that I will have his Vane Distributor Machine when he retires. He never forgot and I bought it for a ridiculously low price. It got me testing again after my machine failed. I shared everything I was doing and developing with John. Every time I test now I think of him.

Just a tip for those shipping Points Boxes. Cut a piece of -6 or 3/8" hose a inch long and place it over the Coil Tower ...

Just a tip for those shipping Points Boxes. Cut a piece of -6 or 3/8" hose a inch long and place it over the Coil Tower terminal. Protects the terminal in shipping from being bent or broken off as the brass is only 0.170" thick. Cheap insurance.

Another 8105 to 8106 Points Box conversion done and off to Western Australia for Kevin Couzens to use in his Limited Sprintcar. Coil output is up from 42,200 volts to 57,800 volts. Thats a increase of 37%. Engine will run so much better.
