🐀 It's not uncommon to find rat’s nests in engine bays & they're usually found during the colder months, as the rodents will seek out warm places to spend the night. Residents who live near water like creeks and canals are more susceptible to these pests. They will chew through the rubber components & wiring of your vehicle, causing expensive repairs.
The tell-tale signs are their husky looking type of beds & rat droppings. Just another reason why it is important to regularly check your engine bay!

👨🏻‍🔧Time to get your tyres checked?!
Well maintained tyres are critical to your safety on the road, but can often be an overlooked area of your car. Tread depth is essential for braking & water dispersion, & helps to reduce the risk of aquaplaning.
• New tyres will generally have 8-9mm of tread and the legal minimum of tread is 1.5mm. However, it is recommended replacing tyres once the tread gets down to 3mm.
• Tyre wear is increased with hard breaking and uneven road surfaces. Tread wear indicator bars, placed at regular intervals on the tyre, will be level with the tread blocks when the minimum tread is reached.
• Tyres that aren’t roadworthy are not only dangerous, but also illegal.

During a routine service, we found this water pump with excessive movement in the bearing. If left, the bearing would have failed, causing the vehicle to break down.
👨‍🔧 Water pumps are responsible for continuously pumping coolant and water into the engine, maintaining a consistent operating temperature & preventing heat build-up.
⚠ Symptoms of a Bad or Failing Water Pump include;
• Coolant leak
• A whining sound
• Engine overheating
• Steam coming from the radiator
• Can lead to complete engine failure

🤔 Did you know...? When checking your engine oil level; if the vehicle has been running; allow a few minutes for the oil to settle & ensure the vehicle is on even ground. This will ensure a more accurate reading.
Remove the dipstick & wipe clean on a rag. Re-insert the dipstick all the way back in & then inspect the level. The oil should be between the two marks.
We recommend checking your engine oil fortnightly.

Our customer reported a knocking noise from the front end while driving. The culprit was a broken coil spring.
👨‍🔧 The coil spring plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth & comfortable ride, absorbing shocks & vibrations that occur when driving over uneven surfaces, as well as supporting the weight of the vehicle & maintaining a consistent ride height.
