No two days are ever the same at Integrity Auto Electrics.

The past week has been a mix of electrical diagnostics, repairs and installations across passenger vehicles, 4WDs, trucks and agricultural machinery.

Jobs this week included:
β€’ Charging system faults and repairs
β€’ Starting system diagnostics and repairs
β€’ Engine management and sensor faults
β€’ Air conditioning diagnostics and repairs
β€’ Vehicle lighting repairs
β€’ Battery isolator installations

One of the more interesting faults involved β€œoil wicking” in a wiring harness. Oil can travel along the inside of the copper wiring and make its way to connectors and engine sensors, sometimes well away from the original leak. This can cause poor connections, misleading sensor readings, and intermittent faults that can be difficult to trace without proper diagnosis.
One of the things we enjoy most about this work is the variety. No two jobs are the same, and every vehicle brings a different challenge. Whether it’s tracking down a complex electrical fault, installing accessories, repairing air conditioning systems or chasing intermittent issues, we take pride in finding the cause and doing the job properly.

A big thank you to all our customers for your continued support. We appreciate the trust you place in Integrity Auto Electrics and look forward to keeping you on the road, in the paddock and on the job.

🌧️ Wet weather is on the way across the South West, and while the rain is great for the paddocks, it's not always great for your machinery’s or fleets electrical system!

Water and auto electrics don't mix. Moisture can find its way into wiring, connectors, sensors and battery terminals, leading to issues such as:

⚑ Starting problems
⚑ Battery drain or charging faults
⚑ Trailer light failures
⚑ Warning lights appearing on the dash
⚑ Corrosion in wiring and connections
⚑ Faulty sensors and intermittent electrical gremlins

If you've noticed flickering lights, trouble starting, or electrical issues after driving through heavy rain or flooded areas, don't ignore it small issues can quickly become costly repairs.

At Integrity Auto Electrics, we can diagnose and repair electrical faults before they leave you and your business stranded. Whether it's your family car, 4WD, work ute, truck or agricultural equipment, we're here to help keep you moving safely this winter.

Toyota LandCruiser 200 Series
Touring Power & Starlink Setup
πŸ”§βš‘πŸ“‘

This 200 Series was in last week for a complete charging and connectivity upgrade, getting it ready for serious off-grid touring with a caravan.

Factory 130A alternators can quickly become a limitation especially when paired with a van running a 60A DC-DC charger.

To handle the demand, we upgraded the system properly:

βœ”οΈ Alternator upgrade 130A β†’ 220A
βœ”οΈ Upgraded charge cable to main battery to handle higher current
βœ”οΈ Heavy-duty charge cable run from main battery to rear to supply the caravan
βœ”οΈ Upgraded fuse protection for increased load capacity
βœ”οΈ Dedicated hotwire feed to caravan
βœ”οΈ Caravan running a Renogy 60A DC-DC charger

We also integrated a clean Starlink setup:

βœ”οΈ Starlink Mini installed for off-grid connectivity πŸ“‘
βœ”οΈ Main power isolation switch fitted in vehicle
βœ”οΈ Starlink Mini Inline Remote, allowing on/off control from inside the caravan

No need to access the vehicle simple, practical control from inside the van.

All wiring was run, protected, and tested to ensure reliable performance under load.

This setup now delivers consistent charging to both vehicle and caravan, with a system built to handle real touring demands.

Working on this horse transporter for a valued customer heading away to upcoming events 🐎

The existing battery monitoring system had failed, and due to the age of the setup, an exact replacement was no longer available. After some research, we upgraded the system with a premium Victron Smart battery monitor and 500A shunt.

The shunt is the key part of the system it measures all current flowing in and out of the battery, allowing the Victron system to accurately calculate state of charge, usage, and overall battery health in real time.

This upgrade now gives the customer full visibility of their battery system via the Victron app making it easy to monitor charge, discharge, and performance while on the road.

We also installed additional 12V power sockets to support a fridge and other accessories, improving overall usability for those longer trips away.

Another tidy and practical upgrade, ready for the road πŸ‘

Had the privilege of working on this Mustang recently, carrying out electrical diagnostics and finishing work.

We diagnosed and repaired an inoperative fuel gauge and integrated upgraded interior lighting into a new centre console setup. All circuits were tested to ensure everything operates reliably.

Older wiring can hide a few gremlins, so careful fault finding is key.

First round of repairs completed more to come. Looking forward to getting back to this one soon.
