What fuel should I use?
This is an often argued problem and one of the most common questions I get. Put VERY simply there are 3 points to remember.
1. 91 often contains ethanol which rots out lines in carb engines very quickly
2. 98 is primarily designed for fuel injected engines and engines with high compression. Majority of ride on engines will run too rich with it and eventually soot foul plugs.
3. The higher octane fuels will last longer before causing starting issues.
In my experience the best fuel for most small engines is 95, no ethanol, enough octane to last a while and other additives for clean running. If your using a lot then non ethanol 91 is ok but beware it will lose effectiveness when stored for too long.
