"Having purchased boats previously over the last 50 years, I think I have a reasonable basis for comparison, plus there are good reasons Sports Marine are Global Distributor of the Year for Nimbus. From start to finish (discussion, ease of showing comparative boats to purchase & delivery) exemplary service by Cameron. Spent the day of launch with us familiarising ourselves with the boat. We are lucky to spend the summer in Australia - near the Pittwater, NSW. We wanted a small boat that could sit on a swinging mooring but cope with reasonable wind & swells, enabling us to get back from Hawkesbury River, Brisbane Waters, Bobbin Head, various bays etc.
The flared bow & strong build of the NImbus T8 works a treat. I think Dan on his Boat Life Channel is right about the finish of the Nimbus being in line with Riviera from what little I know. Dan has actually reviewed our boat at Sports Marine, Brookvale on his channel as the first into Australia. Despite the boat weight & strength the boat is quick with the Mercury 300 & I suspect any number of people on the boat, up to 8 is not going to change that!
We also had the issue of what to do with the T8 from end of March to mid October, when we are in the UK & Sports Marine agreed to look after the boat at their Brookvale premises over the next few years at a reasonable rate per month. Outboard to be flushed, new anti foul & engine service for the next season Oct 2024. Because of their significant dealership size & focus 20 hour service efficiently carried out by Shannon & boat lifted by Fenwicks at Brooklyn which is a very good family boat yard where nothing appears to be a problem.
