The Yard Brisbane (TYB), one of the most well-resourced yards on the East Coast of Australia with the largest and only 600T straddle carrier in the Southern Hemisphere, TYB's lifting capabilities are second to none. Additional yard resources include 9000m2 of hard stand/laydown/staging, 11,405 m2 of specialised Industrial sheds and machinery workshops up to 90m in length (24.3m under gantry), fing

TYB is a support and service facility catering to a wide range of new construction projects, repairs, conversions and refits. Our team of highly skilled professionals are certified to work on everything from super yachts to tugs, barges, workboats, fishing fleets, high-speed passenger ferries and government vessels.

A new chapter for Giuseppa ⚓️

Built in Ballina around 1980 by renowned boatbuilder Bob McLaren, Giuseppa spent decades working from Wollongong as a highly productive commercial fishing trawler. Skippered by Rocco Musumeci, she became known as a formidable “big fish catcher”, pursuing gemfish and royal red prawns along Australia’s deep coastal shelf.

After recently completing an important stage of structural works here at The Yard Brisbane, this historic timber vessel is back on the water and bound for Sydney.

There, Giuseppa’s refit will continue as she is thoughtfully transformed from a hardworking commercial trawler into the newest addition to the Zephyr Charters vintage fleet—preserving her character, craftsmanship and remarkable maritime heritage for an entirely new life on the water.

The ever popular 60ft Manuka is back at TYB once again. The masted fiberglass coastal cruiser is stored in Shed 64 for her annuals and will be getting the very best of attention by her meticulous owners and the TYB trades!

ENGAGE ROGUE has splashed after a 1 month docking, completing her first 5 year special survey. She rolls out of the refit hall in breathtaking style with the teams and trades pulling out all the stops to ensure this vessel hit the water today, with freshly coated topsides, deck, and antidfoul, plus many various # survey and maintenance items completed. Big thanks to GT Mac, RL Marine, Lumark, HMI, Halliday Engineering and Bowmar and the TYB projects team. And of course, a big thank you to Engage Marine for entrusting The Yard Brisbane with another special survey.

The work returning to water doesn’t end here, the remobilisation commences right away which includes remounting mast, winches, fenders, bunkering, and much more. She’ll be ready to depart in a few days time!

The Yard Brisbane is proud to be attending the Superyacht Australia Fiji Rendezvous, represented by our very own Nick McGuire.

Taking place from 12–14 August, the Rendezvous brings together captains, crew and marine industry professionals from across Australia and the South Pacific for three days of networking and connection, with events across Nawi Island and Port Denarau Marina.

And what a marina to be in! 🛥️🌴

It’s fantastic to see some truly remarkable superyachts in attendance, including Ethereal, the pioneering 58-metre Royal Huisman luxury ketch, 77m SYZYGY 818, Polar Star 65m Lurrsen, 55m Gallileo, and the impressive Sunreef 74 Diana.

We’re honoured to be part of an event that showcases the strength and collaboration of the Pacific superyacht community and helps build even stronger connections between Australia, Fiji and the wider South Pacific.

After six months in one of The Yard Brisbane’s world class refit halls, 60m Superyacht Iron Blonde recently returned to the water in our 600T Travelift.

The scope included survey, general repairs and maintenance, and a full repaint of the stern section — a true team effort from start to finish.

Huge thanks to the Iron Blonde crew and every trade involved for their dedication in bringing this project to a successful completion. We also acknowledge our friends at Rivergate for their involvement.
