Everyone knows I’m a car care fanatic and have been for nearly 60 years!

I’m also an avid car enthusiast and just love beautiful German alloy wheels . I’ve been importing the very best German alloy wheels since 1980 and introduced at least six different brands here

My focus has always been German cars of course but also Italian and Japanese

My favourite brand now is AZEV which has often been credited with making the most perfect design in their legendary Type A

I know for a fact that finding the right wheel for your classic BMW , M-B , Porsche and more is not easy now . Nobody makes the smaller sizes in the correct offsets and push you onto a horrible monster of a wheel that does not suit and you need to run illegal spacers to fit it

This is the AZEV Type A for you!

Sizes are 7.5x16 and 9x16 with offsets 20 -25 and 15 respectively

No spacers or stupid plastic hub hole rings are needed . Each wheel is custom made and ready to fit with mounting hardware included

With a choice of 3, 4 and 5 bolt and PCD from 95 to 130mm , a lot of classics can be looked after

I am a self confessed detailing ju**ie! It all started when Dad asked me to wash his Porsche 912 nearly 60 years ago. I was hooked !

I remember learning to polish his blue Citroen ID19 with absolutely horrible products like RePo in a brown bottle that smelt like engineered banana . There was blue pigment all over me!

Somehow I knew this was not the best way. It had to be easier and more pleasant than this . It was a totally dreaded chore!

I scoured libraries looking for any book on detailing. I visited every speed shop . I bought every English and US magazine looking for ads.

Everything just snowballed from there! Kitten , Turtle Wax and more then the holy grail , Porzelack using cheesecloth . I soon discovered Meguiars from California. It smelled so nice and worked so easily.

I started writing articles of my own and spoke at car clubs on my crusade often selling my wares

Every time a new product , especially wax, appeared I simply had to buy it.

Amazing times turning others onto my passion.

Today I’m much older and my special interest is paint correction and protection , using superb waxes and amazing ceramic coatings that will blow you away with the gloss and hydrophobia

I keep hearing that ceramic coatings don’t work , are a con etc

Maybe if you base your opinion on the average dealer applied coating or some of the unprofessional ones that are available , I can understand

However , a properly applied top quality. Ceramic coating is an absolute joy.

Don’t believe a single word the new car dealer tells you when it comes to ceramic coatings!

They do not last 10 years plus if water beading and repellency are the criteria. Even the very best professionally applied coatings and running out of puff at 4 years. Unless your car is a garage queen , you will not see anything better

Any ceramic coating is only as good as the preparation. The paint surface has to be meticulously clean and free of contamination otherwise the coating will not bond and will not perform

You do need to keep it clean using a pH neutral shampoo and dry if well to stop water spots

You need to stay out of car washes. If the brushes don’t destroy your coating, the harsh chemicals will

Expect to halve at least, the durability if you use car washes

You will pay way too much for what is usually a very substandard job

Save money and get a real professional ceramic coating that will perform!
