Keep your transmission cool and protected! ❄️

Automatic transmissions generate extra heat when towing, touring, driving on sand or tackling demanding 4WD conditions. Excessive heat can cause transmission fluid to break down faster, reduce performance and contribute to premature wear.

An auxiliary transmission cooler can help:

✅ Reduce transmission operating temperatures
✅ Protect transmission fluid from overheating
✅ Improve reliability when towing or 4WDing
✅ Reduce unnecessary wear on internal components
✅ Help extend the life of your transmission

Planning some towing, touring or beach driving? Ask J.A.T Mechanical whether a transmission cooler is suitable for your vehicle.

Ever wondered what a torque converter lock-up kit does? 🔧

Your torque converter transfers power from the engine to the automatic transmission. A lock-up kit allows the converter to create a more direct connection when driving, reducing unnecessary slip.

The benefits can include:

✅ Lower transmission temperatures
✅ Improved engine braking
✅ Better control when towing or travelling downhill
✅ Reduced torque converter slip
✅ Potential improvement in fuel economy

We fit quality Australian-made MM4X4 lock-up kits at J.A.T Mechanical.

🔧 A FUN LITTLE SUBARU PROJECT! 🔧

Last month, Dan and Grant got stuck into this very cool 1992 Subaru Wagon, giving it a serious mechanical refresh and a few upgrades to make it even more capable off the beaten track.

The boys replaced the rear diff bushes, all front bushes, engine and gearbox mounts, strut tops and heavy-duty rear springs. They also fitted a new timing belt kit, water pump and oil pump seal kit, installed a locker and body lift, carried out a full service and finished it off with larger 205/70R15 tyres.

It’s not every day we get something like this through the workshop, and it was great fun bringing this old-school Subaru back up to scratch while giving it a tougher stance and plenty of extra capability.

A great team effort by Dan and Grant—and one seriously cool little wagon ready for its next adventure!

🐣🔧 We’re taking a brake… before we break something 😅

Our crew is hopping off the tools this Easter to rest, recharge, and hunt for eggs instead of engine knocks 🐰🍫

We’ll be closed over the Easter break — but don’t worry, we’ll be back afterwards, fully recharged and ready to get you back on the road (no bunny business 🐇🚗)

Wishing everyone an egg-stra safe and crackin’ Easter! 🐣💥

We are already seeing signs of contaminated fuel systems! As prices rise, we are seeking lower fuel costs at the bowser. But this can cost you more than just a few cents/L. Be mindful where you fill up.
