Good morning ... earlier this week AARC successfully completed both our AGM and our first meeting for the year. During the AGM the previous committee was returned to office - Jeff Ablett President, Gary Amos as Vice-president and Treasurer and Chris Ablett as Secretary.
After a heavy discussion it was agreed we will start Arabian racing again. This initial plan is for a Spring Racing Calendar starting late July or early August and continuing until late October early November. Further details will be available shortly.
Our next meeting will be early May, probably Tues 7th May and, as it is difficult for people to attend in person, we will be using ZOOM. Registered members will automatically receive the ZOOM code to join the meeting and others interested in joining the meeting can email [email protected] closer to the meeting and she will email the code.

Good morning AARC followers - the AGM for AARC is currently being planned and will be held in early February at a time and place to be decided based on the numbers expected to attend. To assist in this planning process may we have a show of hands of those interested in attending please?

There appears to be a resurgence if interest in racing our purebreds so following the AGM will be a general meeting to discuss restarting Arabian Racing in Queensland for 2024. To this end, an indication of how many trainers, old or new, would attend the meeting or would like the minutes of the meeting so they can start planning would be appreciated.

Good morning AARC Owners, Trainers, Jockeys and Strappers.

The AARC Executive in its seventh year managing and facilitating Arabian Racing in Australia has met, and discussed, the current state of Arabian Racing in Australia.

Although AARC offered six races for 2022, there has been a noticeable lack of interest from all participants and currently there are (in 2022):

• no registered trainers or strappers
• no new horse registration for the 2022 race calendar
• no nominations for any race

Adding to our frustrations, Arabian Racings international sponsor the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Racing Festival’s representative in Australia, has stated the “Festival” will not sponsor races in Australia in 2022. This is a notable loss.

AARC was accepted by the International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing (IFAHR) in October 2021. This organisation gives Australian Arabian Racehorses international exposure via race results data displayed on its website. Unfortunately, there has been ongoing problematic issues with IFAHR's displaying of AARC race results, calendar, and horse information. This has frustrated relations between our two organisation’s with no resolve reached.

We are also paying exorbitant insurance fees to cover every contingency for all concerned and if we are not racing this is a total waste.

With the above points in mind the current AARC Executive, sadly, has decided to no longer continue facilitating Purebred Arabian races in Australia.

Without the support of sponsors, participants and stakeholders racing cannot exist. The AARC Executive would be open to consider other interested parties who would take over the management and administration of races. The AARC Executive requests prompt response by any interested parties in notifying the AARC Secretary by close of business 08/04/2022.

Should AARC receive no interest from a new management/administration group, the AARC Executive will terminate all operations and AARC will cease to exist.

Good afternoon - 3 more Races taking us to 6 races for 2022 - AARC has now confirmed a further 3 races on our calendar for 2022. These races will be held at Gympie on the following dates - 20th August, 17th September and 22nd October. See our calendar for further details:-

Good evening AARC Owners, Trainers, Jockeys and Strappers.
AARC is now finalising our 2022 "AARC Arabian Spring Carnival" calendar.
Our first race will be at Warwick during their Annual Picnic Meeting on the 18th of June - the paperwork is already on its way to RQ. We realise June is actually winter but here in Queensland the weather is perfect all year round.
On our calendar, see our WEB site, we have also included 2 further races approved by the Nanango Race Club on the 10th of September and the 3rd of December. We are still finalising dates and locations with 2 other clubs and our plan is to run 2 races between Warwick and Nanango, and a further 2 races between the 2 Nanango races, giving us 7 races it total.
Why are we giving you half the calendar? The Warwick race is only 90 days away and horses will have to be bought back in and training started and we should have the outstanding races locked in within the next 2-3 weeks.
AARC looks forward to seeing you all again on the tracks in Queensland.

AARC has now completed entering and correcting our race results in the IFAHR System - https://www.ifahr.net/ . We are currently waiting on an "Australia - AARC" country button which we believe is underway now. If you would like to review your horses results just go to the IFAHR Site and click the magnifying Glass or open box and enter your horses name. If your horse has only raced with AARC there will only be 1 selection otherwise there will be 2 entries and AARC races will be the second.

The Australasian Arabian Racing Club’s AGM was held yesterday the 11th of December 12, 2021. All Executive and Committee positions were declared vacant and we are very pleased to announce the retiring Executive was re-elected, unopposed, and Michelle Amos was elected to the AARC committee. We would like to thank Jay Randle for providing the meeting venue at Splendacrest and the catering for our Christmas party which was a resounding success. We would also like to thank all who joined us for the AGM and party. AARC looks forward to an exciting and successful year of racing in 2022.

Good evening – for all those interested in Arabian Racing with the Australasian Arabian Racing Club in Queensland, we are pleased to announce we are preparing a free seminar which will cover all aspects of Arabian Racing for you. The 4 main sections will be “the Trainer”, “the Jockey”, “the Purebred Arabian horse”, “the gear and tack” and will be followed up with questions and answers for as long as there are questions.

The Seminar will run from 10am until 2pm on Sunday 16th January 2022 and will be at the Warwick Turf Club in Victoria Street Warwick Qld. We will provide a light lunch.
