This is one of the most common failure points and reasons for turbo failure on the Toyota platform. The sneaky little plastic filter... Whether it be a 1HD-FTE, 1KZ, 1KD, Toyota Hilux, Toyota Prado, Landcruiser, the list goes on. If you have the standard one on your car, the chances that it is cracked by now are very high. When these are cracked it bypasses the turbocharger pressure away from the MAP sensor. Therefore the turbocharger thinks it’s underperforming. By trying to compensate for this it will speed up to try and create the boost pressure it thinks it’s not making. Over time this leads to turbo failure. Our stainless steel option prevents this from ever happening again and is a buy once fit once solution. Every Toyota should have one.
