VALE

HAROLD WALTER JAMES IRELAND.

Dear Members & Friends,

It is with great sadness I convey the sad news that Harold Ireland passed away at the age of 94 last Sunday.

Harold together with his wife Phyllis and their family have connections that have run deep amongst our membership and our club.

He was chipper to the last and looked like coming home from hospital after a recent fall which mended, but as happens, things took a turn for the worst.

His family request that their privacy be respected at this time of great sadness and grief.

There will not be a formal funeral in the traditional sense but I am pleased to advise the family are planning a CELEBRATION OF HAROLD’S LIFE, expected to occur in the second half of October.

Phyllis and Harold enjoyed 71 years of marriage and my best wishes have been extended to her through the family on behalf of you all.

Harold’s sage council, dry humour, stories and helpful guidance will be fondly remembered and missed by many,

Thank You Harold.

Studebaker car club of Queensland made the journey to Laidley for their Spring Fair today coinciding with International drive your Studebaker day. 4 GT Hawks and a Champ and a Thunderbird was our contribution to what was a very good event. Plenty going on in the town and surrounding parklands. We met new member Ted who travelled over from Gatton.

SCCQ mini golf day at Deception Bay today. Everybody had a great time missing the hole and finding all the hazards. Yours truly won the prestigous plastic trophy again which is an indication of the low standards we have.
After golf we adjourned to the " Burpo" tavern where we met up with a couple more members for lunch. Thanks to Michael for organising the day and to the members who attended and had a great day.
