🔥This is why we remove and clean diesel intake systems properly.

At 125,000 km, this 3.2L Ranger already had significant carbon buildup through the intake manifold and EGR system. Buildup at this level restricts airflow and can contribute to poor performance, smoke, limp-mode faults and ongoing DPF issues.

The components were removed, stripped down and thoroughly cleaned using our ultrasonic cleaner before being refitted and tested, not simply sprayed through while still fitted to the vehicle.

Although this was carried out mainly as preventative maintenance, there was a noticeable improvement in performance once it was back together.

Full intake manifold and EGR cleaning for Rangers and other diesel vehicles across Brisbane and wider SEQ.

WE’RE EXPANDING🔥👀

Heights Heavy Diesel is now Heights Automotive & Heavy Diesel.

The demand for our mobile automotive work has grown significantly, with more customers coming to us for everything from everyday vehicles and 4WDs through to diesel and heavy diesel. So we’re expanding to better accommodate the work already coming our way.

The new name better represents the range of vehicles, the variety of work and the jobs we’re proud to take on across both automotive and heavy diesel.

💨 $4,000 later…. the problem was still there. One of our recent DPF regenerations on a Mitsubishi Triton!

This Mitsubishi Triton came to us after the owner had already spent over $4,000 with another shop, who fitted a second-hand DPF. Unfortunately, the DPF wasn’t regenerated, and just two weeks later the same fault returned. Only for the other business to quote him another $4,000 + to rectify their repairs.

When we carried out our own inspection, we found several issues:
• The DPF temperature sensor hadn’t been fitted correctly, causing it to completely rattle out and putting the vehicle into limp mode. This resulted in the customer having to drive on the highway at 40km/h.
• New intercooler pipes had been fitted, but one had been left completely loose causing a huge boost leak.
• The DPF had not been regenerated after the second hand replacement.

We corrected the issues, completed a forced DPF regeneration, cleared the fault codes, oil and oil filter change, and had the Triton running as it should, for a fraction of what had already been spent.

The customer hasn’t had a single issue since and couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

This job is a reminder that replacing parts doesn’t always solve the problem. Taking the time to properly inspect, diagnose and test a vehicle can save thousands of dollars and prevent ongoing issues.
