Riley's drift Soarer came into the shop for a freshen-up before Drift the Downs.

The upgrade list included a Link G4X ECU, wideband O2 sensor, Bosch 1000cc injectors, additional engine protection sensors, a Black Arts Fabrication J-pipe, Turbosmart 45mm wastegate, and a Garrett 30-76 Gen II turbo.

Once it hit the dyno, it quickly became clear the engine wasn't as healthy as we'd hoped. What started as a tune-up soon turned into an engine-out rebuild with a tight deadline to have the car ready before the weekend.

The rebuild received Hastings piston rings, ACL Race Series bearings, ARP head studs, a genuine Toyota oil pump, and a Golby's Race Parts gasket kit.
After a quick turnaround, the Soarer was back together and on the rollers, laying down a healthy 450hp.
The best part? It drove straight from the dyno to Warwick, spent the weekend shredding tyres at Drift the Downs, and then drove home without missing a beat.
