Together, Diversity & Inclusion form one of JCT600’s key colleague commitments, so International Women’s Day is always a great reminder to stop and take check of the work that is being done across the business to . Here are the highlights from just some of the initiatives that have stood out for VLS…
🧒🏼As a group JCT600 now has a dedicated gender balance community. will be shining a spotlight on who they are and their mission over the next few days so please pop on to see! If you’d like to know more, our VLS Head of Customer Experience, Rebecca Eggington, is an active member of the group and would be happy to answer any questions.
👩👦The maternity policy at JCT600 was reviewed back in 2021 and led to a brand-new policy being put in place on the 1st of January 2022. The policy included not only enhanced pay but an enhanced return to work option. This is a policy that has had a significant impact when it comes to not only reducing the financial impact of maternity leave but also opening up flexible options for return to work that create more balance.
🗝️The business is a keen supporter of the Automotive 30% Club (you can find out more at Welcome to the Automotive 30% Club - The Automotive 30% Club (automotive30club.co.uk) ) and really got behind their Inspiring Automotive Women Awards this year. We were thrilled to see Michelle Caveney, Brand Director for Mercedes-Benz, JLR, Maserati and Lotus, recognised as one of the 2024 final ten inspiring women.
📚VLS has a particular interest in how we can develop our team members with training of all kinds, so, when the AFP introduced their Accelerate-Women’s Voices in Fleet (Accelerate - Women's Voices in Fleet - 20th-21st March 2024 - AFP (theafp.co.uk)) course we were quick to make sure some of our team were booked on and eager to bring back some inspiration for future action.
🍵A collaboration with “The Menopause Café” charity has created a safe space for menopause to be discussed in terms of how employees can be better supported. This has covered areas such as nutrition, lifestyle, management awareness, and training opportunities with lots more to come.
We think it’s safe to say that change is coming, but never ones to rest on our laurels, we will be continuing to work with the Group on initiatives in this area as well as looking at new ways to promote the work of local charities and businesses so if you have any suggestions please feel free to email [email protected]
