27/10/2002 - Over the weekend at Heathcote Park Raceway, Con Anestis drove his Gold ET to a very impressive 12.20 @ 118mph.

His first few runs were always going to be easy after he smashed his driveshaft last time at Calder with a hard launch off the line.

Cons' passes of the day were:
1st Pass: 13.87 @ 115mph (89mph mid track)
2nd Pass: 12.64 @ 117mph (90 mid, 2.0 second 60ft)

He then reduced the tyre pressure down to 6psi to try and find some added traction.

3rd Pass: 12.27 @ 114 mph (93 mid track, 1.85 60ft)

You can see that the reduced tyre pressure helps the 60ft time but kills the top end. He then ran:

4th Pass: 12.33 @ 117mph (92 mid track, 1.9 60ft)
5th Pass: 12.20 @ 118mph (95 mid track, 1.95 60ft)

The winds were very strong and gusty with quite a head wind which most likely stopped the car from running close to 120mph.

2006 WRX Club Spec 9 - Built for Response.

James has owned this Club Spec 9 for 15 years, and over that time the car has gone through a few different setups.

The original build was running a larger Blouch turbo and different headers, but James decided to change direction. Rather than chasing the biggest number possible, the goal was to build a car with better throttle response and usable power.

The current setup runs a built closed-deck EJ25, paired with a VF36 twin-scroll turbo with a billet compressor wheel, along with genuine JDM STI twin-scroll headers and up-pipe.

The rest of the setup includes:

1200cc injectors
APS cold air intake
APS solid turbo inlet
Link G4+ ECU
E85
3" turbo-back exhaust
6-speed conversion
Brembo brake conversion

The move to the smaller twin-scroll turbo was all about getting the car on boost quicker and making the power more instant and responsive, rather than simply going after a huge peak figure.

The result?

243KW at the wheels on 22PSI.

For a street-driven WRX, that's a pretty serious combination of response, power and drive-ability.

After 15 years of ownership, James has built the car around what he actually wants from it - instant response and usable power.

Another one wrapped up on the dyno. Dogan's Subaru came in for a decent round of upgrades:

Built motor
FMIC
CAI
Turbo upgrade
Fuel system upgrade
Tuned on E85

Really happy with how this one turned out, making just under 270kW at the wheels. It drives great, makes solid power and is ready to be enjoyed.

Final tune done and dusted.

This clean WRX STI was in at HCW Automotive for its final dyno tune before heading back out on the road.

After some fine adjustments on the dyno, we've dialled everything in to make sure it's running at its best. Our focus isn't just on making power, it's about delivering a safe, reliable tune that the owner can enjoy with confidence, whether it's on the street, at a track day, or on a weekend drive.

This is James’ STI — and honestly, this car brings back a lot of memories.

I first met James many years ago while filling up on E85. We both looked over at each other’s cars and said, “Nice car.”
That was it… the nod between two Greeks that somehow turned into a friendship for life. Nearly 10 years later, we’re still mates.

Back when we first met, we had a few runs on the street and this thing was really quick. We eventually got it up on the dyno and it was making around 240–250kw at the wheels, which back then was a seriously strong setup.

After years of driving and enjoying the car, it was finally time to freshen things up and give the STI the attention it deserved.

We pulled the motor down, sleeved the block, fitted new pistons, and went through the whole setup properly to make sure everything was spot on. Once it was all back together, we tuned it on the dyno — and the result was 292kw at the wheels.

The difference was unreal. Super responsive, seriously fast, and still an absolute pleasure to drive.

Seeing James’ reaction after the tune made all the hard work worth it. Cars like this are more than just builds — they carry memories, friendships, and years of history with them.

This one’s special.
