STEWART WILLIAM INNES
16 August 1944 – 5 June 2026
With great sadness, we mourn the loss of Stewart.
The motor industry was in Stewart’s blood, with his great grandfather George R Innes beginning in the motor trade in 1917 in the Inglewood-Kingower region of Central Victoria, before relocating the business in 1927 to 411 Hargreaves Street Bendigo.
Stewart recalled each day father Arthur and Uncle Les heading off into Nan’s kitchen for morning tea given that his grandparents’ home was adjoining the workshop.
After the site in Hargreaves Street was sold in 1977, Stewart, with the assistance of his father, established Innes Motors in 1978 on the site of a former hay and grain store..
Marilyn And Scott will still continue the family tradition, carrying forward the core values that have guided the business for generations.
A loving and caring husband of Marilyn.
Devoted father of Rachael (dec.), Andrew and Scott, and father-in-law of Renee, wife of Andrew.
Treasured Pa of Lily, Sophie, Sammy and Harry.
