Look the goods now... Its came a long way that Car...

Ol Mate got all the Brakes finished on Box,s Unibody last week, so i figured it was time to fire the Engine up.. I fille...

Ol Mate got all the Brakes finished on Box,s Unibody last week, so i figured it was time to fire the Engine up.. I filled the Trans with Fluid, Coolant in the Radiator, a swish of Fuel down the Carb and it fired straight away.. no Bangs or Cluncks!! Late Friday a few noises started happening, it sounded like it had an air lock in the water passages.. Fired it again Saturday and took it for a spin, plenty of go, not getting hot, plenty of Oil Pressure etc.. Fired it again Monday morning and the knocks were getting louder.. Time to investigate, turning the Motor over by a Ratchet with no Plugs in it and it had some wierd clunking noises on certain parts of the Stroke and the Engine sounded like it was cooling down when you shut it off but it was cold.. Time to take off the Inspection Cover off the Trans and get underneath.. Well there,s the problem.. The Drive Plate is loose on the Crank.. Where Box bought the Motor from must have replaced a Manual Flywheel with an Auto Drive Plate, which is fine, but youd rekon they would have either tightened the Bolts to spec of at least write on it "Bolts are loose".. So the Trans has to come out now... Bu**er... :(

Ol Mate was back for a couple of days this week to help set up the Brake Booster/M Cyl kit that Box supplied for his Unibody.. Like all kits they need tweaking in areas to fit.. Finally got the Trans Line fittings so i could finish them off and i took a couple of pics of Strattys handy work on the Exhaust

The making one Dash from two Welding is done, its off to the Sandblaster now! The RRS Rack has turned up too..

Started on the 65 Coupe Re Conversion.. I got the Owner to buy a New Firewall, Lower Plenum and Wiper Panel, but none of the Suppliers had a 65 LHD Dash in stock, so one had a Shop Display of a Original LHD Dash with all its bits fitted and listed it For Sale.. Only problem when it was removed from a Car it was cut before the Windscreen opening, hence why im doing this lil operation..

Another job turned up on the Weekend.. A Re Conversion of a 65 Coupe that was done many moons ago by a Workshop South of...

Another job turned up on the Weekend.. A Re Conversion of a 65 Coupe that was done many moons ago by a Workshop South of Bendigo..... Any Ol Skool Mustang guys will know where im talking about.. So a new Firewall was ordered, Wiper Panel and Lower Plenum and a good S/Hand Dash Its having a Manual RRS Rack fitted to replace the XK/P Steering that was fitted.. Owner said it had a Half Inch and more of Body Filler covering the botched Firewall Conversion..

Box,s Unibody is back from the Exhaust Shop... Those Tailpipes look trick... i will take a pic of the rest of the Syste...

Box,s Unibody is back from the Exhaust Shop... Those Tailpipes look trick... i will take a pic of the rest of the System when i get it back up in the Air on the Hoist.. I forgot to take a pic yesterday of the bitsa 66 Fastback up in the Air on the Hoist, much easier to work on the Project 66 Convert on the ground.. ...

While Box Heads Unibody is away getting the Exhaust done i moved the Workshop around! Just got a buyer for the Project ...

While Box Heads Unibody is away getting the Exhaust done i moved the Workshop around! Just got a buyer for the Project 66 Convertible that was buried in the far corner of the Workshop, he wants me to Convert it to RHD, so im glad i didnt weld the Wiper Panel and Dash back into the Shell.. So now Project XK Falcon goes to the never to be seen again spot in the Corner.. Bitsa 66 Fastback goes to the Top of the Hoist and the 66 Convert to the bottom .. :)

Seen this pic the other day... I like it.. I might change my mind and do the Sedan/5 Window 33 like this... :)

Not a lot to report on Box,s Unibody.. Waiting on a few bits, Trans Lines Fittings, Lower Radiator Hose, Inlet Manifold ...

Not a lot to report on Box,s Unibody.. Waiting on a few bits, Trans Lines Fittings, Lower Radiator Hose, Inlet Manifold Vacumn Tree, Fan Belt, Battery/Starter Leads.. I was going to put a Mustang Engine Pipe on it to start it as its booked in for early July for Exhaust, but it hits the Old Rear Crossmember.. Lokar Shifter Works.. Just gotta wait till i get it off the Hoist to patch the hole in the Floor where the ol T5 shifter came thru.. I cant get my Guts between the Door and B Pillar while its on the Hoist.. :)
